I looked up at a silver moon
Peering through a cloud of misty gloom
As we sailed across the Atlantic Sea
That fateful night in June

And as I stood upon the bow
A furrow crossed my troubled brow
When I saw a dying star fall from the sky
As the wind out of the north
Began to cry

'Twas then with fearful heart
I came at last to realize
That we were sailing
On a wave of ill-tidings
Known as 'The Devil's Tide'

For no omen of the sea
Brought more fear than thee
A fallen star -  a silver moon
Together in the month of June
If legend true would surely bring us doom

So with no trace of land in sight
We sailed onward through the night
I - the Captain 'Louie Lou'
With my faithful crew
Aboard the 3 mast schooner 'Angel - of the Blue'
On canvas wings we flew
Upon the wailing wind that blew

Then suddenly a hush of malaise
Crushed the summer night
Filling all the crew with dreadful fright
As all the stars in heaven lost their light
And the silver moon dipped completely out of sight
Leaving us to drift without guidance
To our unknown plight

An eerie sound began to roll out of the west
Growing louder and louder as we held our breath
Until it was upon us and the ship began rise
As we looked in horror into the Devil's eye
As the Angel of the Blue began to fly
Up the Devil's breast she climbed 20 fathoms high

One by one the Angel's wings were torn away
As she fought to save us from the Devil's rage
Screams of horror falling from her timber sides
As the crew fell into the Devil's tide

And I - tethered to the helm - watched them die
As we climbed even higher into the Devil's eye
And as the Angel's body creaked and cracked
We finally scaled the crest and rode upon the Devil's back
Just before I fainted and my world went black

I woke up in the morning high on a mountain side
Never knowing just how I had survived
knowing only that my Angel and my crew had died

~~~
Many years have come and gone since then
And I am forever haunted by each and every one of them
My faithful crew and my mighty 'Angel of the Blue'
I see their faces in my dreams
As I awaken to their screams
Wishing, too -  that I had died
But someone had to live
To tell the tale of the 'Devil's Tide'.
Many years it had been since Sir Heathcliffe was home,
He had travelled in countries abroad;
He left in his grief at the death of his wife
While he wrestled with sorrow and God.
He had been round the world, and his troubles had too,
And the thought of his daughter was one:
He dreamed yesternight of her eyes greyish-blue,
And he cried, "Heavens, what have I done?!"
Thus it was that he stood at his very own gate,
Yet unknown to his daughter within;
And he prayed, "Lord, I hope that I've not come too late!
That she lived while away I have been."
First she opened the door and she bobbed down the stairs,
Then she skipped with a smile down the walk,
No thought all the while of her father's shocked stares
Till she stopped with her hand on the lock;
Then she covered her lips and she whispered, "Oh, my!
You're the man on the mantel for sure!
I've asked for ten years, but without a reply
Who the man and the pretty girl were."
And he said, "I'm your father who's been gone so long,
And that angel, your mother who died:
Forgive me for leaving, I realise 'twas wrong;"
And he could not go on, but he cried.
For he looked right into eyes of pale greyish-blue,
And he felt the same rush of surprise
As when years, years ago, with a pair that he knew,
"There's an angel," he said, "in your eyes."
Then she opened the gate, and they fondly embraced
In a place where a young couple kissed;
It was then all the pain of the years was erased,
And the guilt of the life he had missed.
"One angel," said he, "went away from my eyes,
But the other, I left of my own;
Till the day that I go to my bride in the skies
You will never again be alone."
Pal
Bob had been a lonely man ever since
His wife of fifty years had passed.
“Lord, let me join her.” he would pray.
“Let this day be my last.”
Each day, he went to the cemetery,
Just a short walk down the street.
After their talk, he would water her flowers
And hear passers-by whisper, “How sweet.”
One gray and misty morning,
He had hoped for sunnier skies
To plant fall bloomers at her graveside;
But there, to his surprise…
Stood an old dog beside her stone;
Thin and dirty, but he struck a handsome pose.
He whined as Bob approached, as if to say,
“I could use a friend, you know.”
He sat calmly as Bob planted flowers,
Carefully sniffing each one Bob put in place.
After the last one was planted, he sniffed it;
Then turned and licked Bob’s face.
Bob smiled. “I had a dog when I was young…
Pal…he was a mighty good one too.
So, if you don’t mind old fella,
That’s what I’ll call you.”
Pal may have been an old dog,
But he was smart and handsome in his way;
So they made a deal, Bob would give him a meal
And a bath, if he decided to stay.
Pal loved his bath, then rolled in the grass.
He slept on a blanket in the den.
In the night, he dragged it next to Bob’s bed.
He intended to be Bob’s best friend.
Pal was such a good dog, housebroken too;
Never made a mess or got in trouble.
He knew about newspapers, slippers and Frisbees;
And when Bob called, he‘d come on the double.
Yes, Pal gave Bob’s life new purpose.
A special bond of friendship was cast.
And never again did Bob pray,
“Lord, let this day be my last.”
For twelve years, the very best of friends,
Together night and day;
And so it was, until one evening,
Pal quietly passed away.
Bob held Pal in his arms and wept.
“Oh, Pal…my best friend…you saved my life.”
He caressed Pal as he reminisced;
Then, sometime in the night, Bob joined his wife.
The next morning, an old woman,
Tears welling in her sad and lonely eyes,
Brought fresh flowers to her husband’s grave;
But there, to her surprise….
Stood an old dog beside the stone,
Thin an dirty, but he struck a handsome pose.
He whined as she approached, as if to say,
“I could use a friend, you know.”
He sat calmly as she took old flowers
And put fresh ones in their place.
He carefully sniffed the fresh ones,
Then, turned and licked her face.
She smiled through her tears.
“I had a dog when I was young...
A good one too.  His name was Pal.”
Ignorant to passing time
Reality strikes its deafening chime
Unspoken words pass between
I and you, my darling queen
Lay your weary head to rest
With your arms across your chest
Now it's time to close your eyes
Whisper your final goodbyes
Let me go, we'll both be free
Cross the wasteland, past the sea
Find the path to heaven's light
Break away from endless night
Embracing tears of bitter pain
Falling lightly with the rain
Out of reach, I hear your song
Alone again, I sing along
Let me go, we'll both be free
Cross the wasteland, past the sea
Find the path to heaven's light
Break away from endless night
From the night. . .
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I never saw you so alive
So alive
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I'll never ever say goodbye
Never say goodbye
Life has ended, you have won
Death befriended, pain is gone
Fly away into the light
Crystal clear and shining bright
Close your eyes for final rest
Meeting among the blessed
Let me go, we'll both be free
Cross the wasteland, past the sea
Find the path to heaven's light
Break away from endless night
From the night. . .
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I never saw you so alive
So alive
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I'll never ever say goodbye
Never say goodbye
I let you go so you'll be free
Cross the path of darkened sea
I watched your velvet wings take flight
I can never say goodbye
Never say goodbye
My Precious Angel
My precious little angel
in Gods' loving care
how often I have grieved for you
wishing you were here.
I had a fleeting glimpse of you
before you went away.
I knew I had to say goodbye
you were too small to stay.
For though you grew inside of me
you were not mine to keep
God called you to his loving arms
now there you gently sleep.
Briefly were you with me
yet I loved you from the start
and now forever you will be
engraved within my heart
and in the shelter of Gods' love
I know you will remain
never to know suffering,
heartache, loss and pain.
I'll find my comfort in my faith
until my days here end.
Then through Gods' sweet salvation
we will unite again.
Hungry stomach and hungry voice
Choice of the capitalists
Skin and bone girls and boys
Their creature and they rejoice
Words and paints latent in their look
Contents of a hundred books
In those naked socket of their eyes
Variety of hunger multiplies
They come and they go
Flutes of skeleton playing with turmoil
Hapless sons of the soil
Born with the desire to say no
Two handsome young faces
In their nation-made ungraces
Posters depicting street protest
Against the sucker pests
Poems in their dormant breasts
Lurking in their scorning look
Blending with gainless cry
Empty hopes in the still false sky
ANGEL OF HEAVEN
O' Lord, why, O' why?
To be across the sea so far
Beyond the clouds in the sky
To reach out and touch a star,
in the near heavens, she soars.
A short life of beauty, I'll never understand why?
They were ready for her in heaven,
Waiting with good reasons and light
She earned golden wings like the angels
No more suffering or pain.
On earth she shined with so much love,
Now you are an angel of heaven above
An angel of heaven, who flew  away like a dove
You left our hearts a little to soon
In our hearts you'll always be loved
Never will you be forgotten, now you're with
Jesus and the angels above.
The sky is not the same.
When I don't see her eyes and her smile it starts to rain.
Please God tell me your Angel is okay.
I don't know what to do if she goes astray.
Please guide your Angel back to me.
I miss the sweet words of her melody.
Show me she has not departed from us,
and will promise not to fuss.
Give me a sign or a hint of her existence.
Let me know that she is in no need for assistance.
If you do I shall promise never again to be distant.
Two cute little angels
Blue beautiful eyes
To heaven they soar
The stars glow
One heart beat
One heart can burst
Quiet sleep
Loss and pain
Soft kisses
Nothing is forgotten
Two hearts beats
Two hearts can burst
The joy was great
The loss tremendously
A mom and dad
Without happiness
One last minute
Their hearts beats
but ... have burst
Sometimes in our life an angel comes,
To spend some time with us below.
The time may last but only a short time,
Or it may last a life time filled with love.
Sometimes in life an angel comes
To guide us along when life is rough
And our faith is low. They come
And stay until we are on our way.
Sometimes when life seems all down hill'
An angel comes to clear the way,
To bring the sun on a cloudy day.
God sent you an angel to light your way.
As much joy as she brought to you'
You also gave to her when your lives entwined.
Within you she will always be.
So when your heart is down and sadness is around
Just reach down deep inside and feel
The warmth of her love come shinning through'
For she will always be but a kiss away.
Sometimes in life an Angel comes
To bring to you the comfort of God's love.
The poem with no name.
There is a black raven at my tail, as I walk down the street;
It foretells me my tale will no longer taste so sweet.
The end is nigh, I hear from upon high;
In darkness I hear, the shriek of the beast.
I am coming to meet you, my maker;
Are you sure you are ready to meet me?
I will courteously scream at you, what have you taken away?
My life, your judgment; what a price to pay!
Too short was this living; your retort had better be good!
No I don’t understand!  Who on Earth could?
This darkness you befell upon me is bitter indeed;
Without you to blame and scream at, what have I left to bleed?
A soul snatched from this world and elevated beyond this life;
In God’s eyes I find meaning, to my premature demise.
What countless men before me, have suffered the same fate?
I see two angels at God’s shoulders; I guess he sent his Devil away.
I kneel before benevolence and beg for forgiveness.
The voice of angel’s raise my spirit;
Their songs of joy are relentless.
 She arrived on the wings of a butterfly
 But left with wings of an angel, soaring ever so high
 She’s found heaven's glory in which to dwell
  I know that she is with love and doing well
  Her laughter still floats on a summer breeze
 And tears still fall with the rain
 And butterflies still flutter with delicate ease
  Where flowers bloom and happiness reigns
 She held my hand, running through the fields
 Brought me safety with her protective shields
 Then called me often crying out to me
  When I was restricted from her, not allowed to see
  But, she left with wings of an angel
  To a far better place than here
  Her memory is my cherished souvenir
   Bright light shines on her, where she has no fear
                          ~~~

As she falls she thinks
She thinks of what she did to make this happen
She was not perfect in his eyes
She is no longer pure
He expected her to be good
She was supposed to guide those on the wrong path
And guard those innocent few
She was to be a role model
But she has fallen now
She can no longer be that
She is not innocent anymore
She has been treated like a disobedient child
He has disowned her like a pregnant daughter
He refuses to forgive her
She was supposed to be perfect
She was supposed to remain untouched for eternity
The one everyone wanted but couldn’t have
But that didn’t happen
And she has been tossed aside
Tossed aside like ugly clothes
She let someone touch her
And for that she can never return
She thinks he has overreacted
She doesn’t see what she did as wrong
She believes it was destined to happen
But he sees it has the worst possible thing she could do
He disowned her for one mistake
But she hopes he will let her come back
Maybe one day he will welcome her home
But for now he won’t
She imagines her new life
She thinks falling will be the hardest thing
Maybe one day she will rise again
Being a fallen angel was never her goal
But that is what she is
And until he forgives her
That is what she will remain

He was always so happy
strong and bold.
He'd give you the shirt off of his back.
Tough.
Independent.
He had a rough life
growing up through the depression,
but like he always does,
he got through it.
He has two boys, of whom he is so proud.
Moved from Regina, to Victoria.
He had the best life anyone his age could have wanted.
But ever since his wife died,
he has not been the same.
Sad
Lonely
Empty.
But like he has always done,
he got through it.
Mind slipping,
just a little forgetful.
That's how it always starts out...
But like always, he powered through it,
until now...
He is not the same person that I used to know.
He been sentenced to the prison in his own mind.
Possessed by the thoughts of his dogs ashes.
He likes to play the blame game,
but we know he doesn't remember that it was him.
He wakes up in the night
shaking with pain,
tears streaming down his face.
There is nothing we can do,
Oh well...
Two more tylenol.
Hold on to hope
for as long as you can,
It's only a matter of time now.
He gets vocal, a very loud tone.
He'll block you in your room
and make false accusations
But we know that it's the pain induced monster in him.
Tick tock, tick tock...
You can't handle the stress anymore
you have to leave.
Just hope for the best,
maybe it will get better.
Surprise, it doesn't.
Your denial is foolish, everyone knows
what happens next.
Sedation
Medication
Anger
Hurt

Summer days longing
tranquil winter nights
Approaching
Foundling When born
Summon all On board
No warmth around
Thy Fondness for my twin
Angels floundering wings
Descending flight
A death in my arms
As eyes looked on
The feeling of emptiness
Despair rushed from within
Now gone The giggles and laughter
Jacks we played small talk we had
I walk alone now lonely
Seeing those distorted faces
Cascading over a motionless
Limp body
I could talk even scream
But could not be heard
I prayed please bring her back
God can you help
Does anybody care
Anybody wonder where's
She's going
My silent screams go unheard
Time flashes by ever so slowly
Memories projected onto me
The bright lights grow
dimmer and dimmer
The final thoughts arrive
In a fleeting moment
To a bright life with angel wings
That was but could not
Endure the final chapter....

Gazing out upon dusky barren moor,
Where gray grass grasps the air
Finding no purchase but sad allure
Straight stalks elapse their endless despair.

Teased by tales of golden reach
Tricked by gales, whose song they preach.

Redtail’s velvet wings breach the sky,
Maroon lips who kiss the grass
Stirring the song, its desperate sigh
Catching the words, her beak of crystal glass

Behind her, midnight shadow draws
Fells her beauty with unseen charcoal paws

Scarlet tears dampen the earth below
Nurture the roots held by dusty truth
Finally, the wind, gray grass’ will bestow
The hawk once, now the fountain of youth.

Litany of silence reigns in dusky glare,
Each blade bowed in mournful prayer.

You were never seen by us, that privilege sadly was not for us an extravagance we were overwhelmed by, the thought of your embrace The entire twelve weeks you were a joy to have known, even 'without' being seen hearing about you're arrival, was a blessing at the time you were conceived For life hadn't been easy and we had all asked God, we even plea'd We wait upon the day, you will finally meet us having the honour to love and learn with you, saddly not for us It brakes my heart as you part, you had already embeded love into my heart Just knowing we will now...forever be kept apart God has other plans for your love that's so strong, blessing us from the start we continually pray, maybe he'll deside to let you stay around But the intense pain of tears and loss, are constantly falling all around just let it be known, we all desperately wanted you to become part of us We all will love you for eternity, you are now forever one of us, although it was only for a very slight second, it was better than never You are from this day on, embedded into our hearts forever... the impact you have left 'unborn young one'' my beloved grandchild.... All in one faded-black day (but let None forget) In my arms, her body lay (my life was the price to pay) A tragedy, through the lack of humanly shame (do they know pain) My darkly colleen has to suffer no more (Robert nor do you) Let me die (please hear my haunted cries) If I can not see Sophie tonight (live on with my grey) I'm just a mess of despairing words And broken nerves Another mourning, afflicted sight (through decay, love can remain) Solace, sympathy are just more lies She is all I need Until you decide she is just another sadist's toy My Angel, why did you have to fly so far away My Angel, just let one feather stay My Angel has flown away My Angel, why did you have to fly so far away My Angel, just let one feather stay My Angel has flown away (My body is amortal, die I may, Together, our hearts will forever stay)

She's on her way going back to a room.
From a long journey since morn.
She went to church and prayed harder.
Then she baught a gift for a daughter's birthday.

It's been five months now since an angel lost her wings.
In an illness that a young body can't conquer.
Nights and days, weeks and months...
She fights the light to remain on sight.

Too many times that her heartbeats get weak.
Life support is the only thing that's left.
To suspend the day of a coming death,
And fade the little hope they all seek.

Moving so fast she saw the open door,
Doctors and nurses are reviving a soul.
Breathless and fainted little one,
Is now waving a hand of good-bye.

Tears fell like a river from her eyes.
The entire room gets darker as she arrived.
The clouds turned gray that afternoon.
The heaven cries for a lost of angel's soul.

I can't imagine being alive without you
I can't imagine what it will be like when your gone
I don't know what I'll become without you
Maybe I'll just run
Run away from everything and leave everyone behind
Maybe I'll find a way to be close to you
Because I won't believe you died
My heart will ache so much more
Tears will always run
My eyes will hold the wisdom
That you bestowed upon me young
And my recklessness will be noticeable
People will wonder why
Why am I running when the person I needed most died
How can I face my life when I can't do anything right
I won't believe you have gone away
When God decides to take you
I'll still come by your house and always expect an answer

In the summer of 2007, God received an angel.
The Angels name was Katie.
Katie was sweet & Katie was good
But I guess God wanted sweet old Katie
Out of the hood.
She did all she could, she gave all she had
But never in her life treated anyone bad.
Jesus, I know that she’s good
I know that she is great
But sometimes I just hate,
Hate that she is gone
Hate that she is away
I think about her everyday.
Everyone & Everything is changing
Family is falling apart,
Oh why it’s breaking my heart.
Tearing the house down acting like pure clowns
God you got a gift
But sometimes I wish,
Wish you hadn’t took my Angel
Wish you would have let her stay a little longer.
God received an Angel.
The Angels name was Katie
 I hope Katie is with me daily
Until I die & visit her in the sky
House is up wholesale, everyone thinking
“WHAT THE HELL”
Angels, Angels, Angels
Angels flying here, Angels flying there
Angels are flying around just about any & everywhere
You took a couple of my families angels in strange ways
I get up in the morning wondering when is my day
& who will be next to depart us.
My heart was broken when you took my Angel
Oh, why did you have to take her,
Her out of all people
She followed the rules and the laws
But I am wondering is that all.

Sister, you left me without saying goodbye
And lived your life in a wink and a sigh
Born in the spring with a short season to give
I lost you in the fall leaving a long winter to outlive

You taught me love and held me close in my grief
I'm wishing we had never put our faith in false belief
Nothing could harm us as we sought out love
When you were gone, something I could barely speak of

I miss your presence even more today
On your birthday, this Easter Sunday
I have only to hope and pray
And wonder about the woman you would have become
Lend me your strength not to succumb

To sadness, yet whisper to me to go on and grow
So I carry you with me wherever I go
You're there in my dreams and never really apart
Now you can finally take flight and know heaven's heart
You are my April angel that will never depart

The body: sacred
We’re all made in God’s image
Hence... circumcision?

When you're hurt inside,
And there's no where to hide,
And there's no one on your side,
And it's killing your pride,
Inside,
Never take hate outside,

When your heart is chocking,
The heavy words never spoken,
The things that hurt you inside,
When love has died,
Inside,
Never take hate outside,

When your heart is gone,
From being alone,
And it beats a solemn tone,

When you're cold inside,
It's only a short ride,
Never take hate outside

Life is worth it
When I live for you
It’s how I know that this is love proven true
But there you fly now in the sky
Showing me that differences and flaws
Is coexistence in each other
Celebrate them don’t use them as a weakness
Because in doing that you show weakness in yourself
Show some respect to them
For they are to be cared for
Then why is it no one ever does
Do they not see the pain?
With every dying cuss
So let the pain engulf me
Teach my eyes to see
Let a fallen angel come to curse me
Let my cuts come to bleed
Evil engulfing my broken heart yet falling deep in love
When everything turns to turmoil
I turn to my angel from above
Let my heart come to boil
In the ashes of my innocence
Letting myself go until I fully reach out to fellow brethren s
Praying with no feeling I can feel myself slip away
I’m falling yet falling apart
 Without the slightest of delays
Birth was a mistake and yet I cannot come to die
Was it true that I am meant to live?
A man who only knows to cry
I cannot give
The light has forsaken my cold and darkened heart
For who am I to live
Cold and fruitless moon why have you forsaken me
Does it bring you joy to see that you are breaking me
Listen to the cold and broken winds
Nothing can ever beat it
Nor can I defend
