Lusting the passions of a secret desire
Unwinding the mystery of my needs
Funerals are for the future
Internment I ask be deferred
Timeless is my youth
Useless is my request
At seeking eternity or at least eternal rest
End of times may seem long away
Beauty we know fades, it will happen some day

So I dream of youthful moments
Isle graveyards were far away

Holy wars and loveless scores
That a soldier must endure
A desire for peace escapes this generation and more
External forces and internal woes
Death dances at my door

Dedicated to Sara Bernhardt, who slept in her coffin amongst all her love letters.

W hen you go to someone's wedding
H ave you done so in clothes that are unsuitable?
E ver shown up for an evening out wearing shorts?
R emember the times when we "dressed" for dinner?
E ven now, some do so.

I t isn't everyday that special things happen in our lives...
S trange how inadequate we are in showing respect.

T here are times when a casual attitude is not offensive.
H ovever, that is for the mundane.
E ach one of us makes choices with regard to events in life.

R ecently, I attended the memorial for a friend's mother.
E very one who was there knew that this was a somber occasion.
S ome, however, did not take the time to think about their demeanor.
P erhaps we have gone overboard with our "casual" attitudes.
E xpectations for me are that one would come dressed for the ceremony.
C asual attire and wearing baseball caps are fine at a picnic, but
T hen, I was taught that social graces begin at home.

Today....... we have to say goodbye one last time to you,
For us, your children, it has to be the hardest thing we've had to do!
I know you have left this body before us and yet it seems oh too real,
So many people who loved you,"praying for what they must feel."
We knew this day would come but not yet....it's way to soon.
Begging God for his mercy...."please help us by healing you."
The sun is shining like a warm July,
The patriotic flag waving high in the sky!
I can't help but think, maybe he did save you?
What actually went wrong, why did it happen so soon?
Our lives will never be the same, we'll never talk to you or even hear your voice,
As of today or even tomorrow we will never have that choice.
You have been the teacher of God's word and a child of his grace,
I'm sure the gates of heaven opened up and the Angel's have rejoiced.
But here on earth we are left with the memory and a pain I can't explain,
We cry for no reason, we don't understand what's left to gain?
Car's are lined up around the block, we look back as far as we can see,
Our Mom is so blessed by people she touched and her life a legacy.
Now entering your final place of rest, we're put to the test,
Bishop Jesse begins to say...what a beautiful day she gave us! For God's child to rest.
He say's we are "Celebrating" life of such a great woman of God,
She was a fishermen of men and a teacher of his love,
Her great hope was for all to follow his word.....let us pray,
So many turned their lives over to Jesus on this day.
Amen! She is still bringing people to know him even in his place of rest.
So to you Mom; Fly away my Angel! you are the best!!

Extinction

Existence of the 8 track as I recall, was of short duration

X is a letter of the alphabet seldom used to begin a word

Telephone booths have gone the way of the dinosaurs

Internet technology has greatly altered the face real romance

Need I say that the landline telephone has been replaced by cell phones?

Currency as a medium of exchange still exists, but is slowly dying

Transactions via the internet has become the preferred mode of operation

In spite of “high Tech explosion”, don’t forget to read, write and do math

Ocean waves and winds can still wreck havoc, and are not likely to change

Never give up on the past, because some old things might have to be resurrected

birth control pills of the poor
underworld vectors of war
life's wicked schizophrenic twin
swinging from the meat hook mayhem
the end arrives before life begins
tide after tide of wicked intent
the streets' favorite color
is
the color of death

once there was an old man on a lane
he always had many cats
then he took a train
and went down another lane

Here above your world I am no longer sad.
Everyone I ever knew is here, and I am glad.
Angels guided me to this place of no more sad.
Visions of you, I have forever, this I must add.
Each day that passes I grow within your heart.
Never think that I am gone, for I’ll never part.
Stars of night are my eyes, secrets of our art.

Graciously I watch you, as you grow and learn.
Angels take me to visit you, so I will not yearn.
Take care of your family that you have so dear.
Eventually my little one you will have no fear.

You Rest in Peace Dear Friend's Mom

Purity was your veil of affection for us,
Utterance of yours was tender and right,
Righteousness was your path we followed,
Nobility and motherhood had united in life,
Impressions you left in core of our memories,
Mom you were very lovable, now in mum time
Acceptance of truth was power within you.

Absence of yours has brought river of sorrow,
Grace of God may fall on and you rest in peace,
Reality we feel remembering festival of light,
Ability of resistance you have taught to acquire.
Walking of yours in cosmic path may bloom,
Admit we to this truth of your adventures demise,
Lustre of eternity you gain soon to incarnate again.
