I found a box when my mother died
And saw the me I was inside.
Big blue eyes and auburn locks,
Rolled up skirt and blue knee socks.

Glee club programs, old year books
Awards and rings tucked into nooks.
And there, a picture of a boy
Who filled my teenage years with joy.

Jeans and tee shirts, hockey skates,
Rock and roll and concert dates.
A soul that made my young heart sing-
First love, first kiss, first everything

As we grew up we slipped apart.
For other places we’d depart
To different schools and different lives,
On to lovers, husbands, wives.

But sometimes I would feel regret.
Years passed and I could not forget.
I’d wonder what he’s doing now -
The where and when and why and how

Fate intervened one Fall and then,
We found each other once again.
I met him on the street one day
And forty years just slipped away.

And right away with no surprise
I saw the boy in the grown man’s eyes.
Our fingers intertwined. The thrill
Told us that we were in love still.

We strolled around that day and kissed,
And spoke of all that we had missed.
Though the happiest we’d been in years
I knew that it would end in tears.

The old desires stirred up anew,
But we knew what we had to do.
Aware some lines must not be crossed
Because there’d be too great a cost.

We left each other and slept alone
Each with a spouse in a lonely home.
To dream of things that might have been
And hope that we cross paths again.

I cherish my handsome rock and roll boy
Who gave a young girl so much joy.
By loving the girl with the auburn locks
The rolled up skirt and blue knee socks.

I Love The Way You Lie

I know that you are seeing someone else,
I'm not there when you close your eyes,
I believe that you are kissing me,
Knowing I love the way you lie.

I hear those three words from your lips,
If love is even possible, it's impossible to cry,
Though I know your heart is not truly mine,
I will always love the way you lie.

Your arms hold me as if you care,
My wise heart still wonders why,
Pretending that everything is alright,
Because I love the way you lie.

When I kiss you I think about nothing,
Wishing it wasn't you when I open my eyes,
I wonder, if I told you the truth,
Would you love the way I lie?

Yesterday's Mistake

Finding forgiveness for foolish fights
my lonely heart overruled my head.
And although I should have known better
I began to believe what you said.

You promised you'd not hurt me again
like you had so many times before.
And you pleaded for just one more chance
to prove your love is forevermore.

You tried to convince me you had changed
swearing this is how you truly feel.
And as my heart began to take note
many painful wounds refused to heal.

Memories of lies and betrayal
still haunt the outer fringes of hope.
For fright fuels fragmented feelings
and I’m not so sure my heart can cope.

I can forgive yet I can't forget
for some images cannot be erased.
And whenever silent screams surface
dreams and nightmares become interlaced.

I’m scared of trusting you, yet again
it is a difficult choice to make.
For do I move on to tomorrow
or gamble on yesterday's mistake.

Collaboration poem:
Jason Williams
Darren White

This is also posted on our collaboration page, but for as long as we don't have a premium membership, I will post it here too, so I can add a picture and soundfile to it.

Voice: Jason Williams

I’ve fallen for him, I’m head over heals
His picture I have, gives me so many feels.
His smile, his eyes, so beautiful to me,
When he looks my way, then what does he see?

I look at his photos, so dear to me
His eyes warm and sometimes sad
Whatever he tells me, all I can see
Is gentleness and love, nothing bad.

Just to hear his voice and what he will say.
Bringing light to my world, he brightens my day.
Oceans apart, it’s really not fair
But I love what we have, I know that he cares.

I won't forget the day we met for real
I love him and know him so very well
Every little thing makes me whole, I feel
Alive again, totally under his spell

     With each day that passes, i'm starting to find;
He's sweet and compassionate, this angel of mine.
Each night i wait and each night I long
for morning to come, with him I belong

His little giggles, how he feels no shame
around me, how he talks, what he says
That's the way love evolves, he feels the same
about me, his loving, tender ways.

By candlelight, I lie awake in bed,
with visions of him skating through my head.
For morning I wait, for morning I long.
In the mean time, I listen to our song.

I dance, arms wrapped around me, I sway,
Rock back and forth with memories
I hope that one day, not just a piece
Of me will be with him, and this time stay

On Golden Sands - For Adults Only

On golden sands in naked lay
Adventurous hands in touching display
His Maidens skin like fine porcelain
Lips in touch, loves to gain

So caressed she becomes so moist
Groans of excite in wanting voice
Her perfect pink lips lure me to kiss
Sweet she is in hungry bliss

In spiral licks to her lips I head
As she welcomes me home on natures bed
Slowly I enter whilst warmed by she
In kissing touch sharing her honey we be

To her nape I kiss whispering words of love
On natures bed, blue ceiling above
Our movements of joy like the oceans waves
Excite her firm breasts, her pertness I crave

My head in her hands as she entices my bite
Kissing, licking her pert nipples in hardened height
Our bodies now joined in writhing glow
Sharing words of love as our loving shows

My pillar of man between her Vee
In rhythmic motion thee and she
Spontaneous we are in pleasurable voice
Arched she becomes as our bodies rejoice

The release of man cascades her inner walls
Warmed and pink my eyes now befall
A gentle kiss to her heaven I plant
In loving groan, my Maiden now pants

Up her torso I kiss to her lips I share
Sweet tasting honey to her eyes I stare
In gentle touch our moment now lived
Memories we share, for our love we give

'Sweethearts Once Again' - a collaboration with Celene Crescent

School days indeed such memories they are
Some stayed close to home, whilst some travelled afar
But where of my first love, where did she go
Our first dance together when I was her Beau

The lovely Olivia, long brown hair, petite
Will she be at the reunion, will we again meet
I still remember the day into the distance she went
To University, beyond, I still sense her perfumed scent

Butterflies, trepidation, after all these years
The evening is soon upon me, I'm nervous for tonight's fears
What if she is there, will she remember her first Beau
I'll only ever know, to the local hotel I now go

I take a familiar path, we walked it so many times
Retracing past moments with her, our footsteps so in rhyme
Through the doors I go, so many faces from my past I see
I don't see Olivia, but so many say hello to me

I have never forgotten your eyes, blue as the sea
Through the crowds I could see you staring at me
Could be after so many years so far away?
That a candle still flickers in our dark destiny?

You reached closer to me, amongst many friends
I wondered how it felt to be touched once again by your hands
Allured by each others silence under an ocean of stars
In the same spot where the prom boy once asked me to dance

Into Autumn we Walked

We waved goodbye to the summer skies
As we walked below the last canopies of green
Our memories in awe at mother natures blooms
Appreciative as we witnessed her scene

Fading colourful spectrum's shared many a bed
Butterflies and insects buzz out another year
Yesterdays scents captured in our minds
Her beauty simply amazes, even brings a few tears

The winds through the trees whistle mournful tunes
Whilst the weakened leaves start their spiralling fall
We walk as they drift on the Autumn breeze
To watch their demise leaves an eerie enthral

The evening descends absorbing the light of the day
Giant cathedrals of brown change to an ebony black
Invisible sounds resonate amongst shadows of dark
This seasonal change shows no lack

Hand in hand we have walked through this beautiful park
Stopping and staring at the most beautiful of views
We head back home contemplating tomorrows writes
My girl and I sharing natures inspirational muse

Amidst a Flowery Meadow

Amidst a flowery meadow we walked this sunny day
Two in love a wandering to find a place to lay
We happen across an Oak tree, as old as old can be
Below it's green filled canopy, we lay in love so free

We chatted and chatted for ages amidst this greenery
Our minds knowing our eventual, to be naked and so free
We turn to face each other, leaning in we share a kiss
Our eyes know our looks, to be in desirable bliss

Lips now touch like whispers, in gentle delightful flow
Urging excites our wants, our desires in us grow
Slowly I undo her buttons revealing charms so sweet
Her body reflects my attention, in pertness rising greet

Cupped I kiss her gently, her hands run through my hair
Her torso openly naked, whilst the Oak can only stare
Sighs now resonate across this meadow of colour
She whispers words of crave, delight my wanting flower

I touch, I kiss and caress, this bloom in radiant pink
Two now become one, as we start to love in sync
Frantic kisses now shared in lusting craving require
Our orchestrated echoes confirm our wanting loving desire

Amidst a flowery meadow we walked this sunny day
Two in love a wandering to find a place to lay
Our passion and love flowed in this lovely flowery place
Below the oldest of Oak trees, lovingly we graced

I love you mama

Many reasons
Have led me to this
To leave this world
Of negative bliss

Boyfriends, who wants them
Parents who fight
To be in my shoes
I will no longer tonight

My diary is written
As to why I must leave
I have felt this for years
As I internally grieve

My i-pod is charged
As I take my last walk
Goodbye grey clouds
I'll miss your thunder talk

I touch the walls
Of buildings I've been in
Leaving my trace
As I graze my skin

Through the park
Where my innocence was taken
By my boyfriend I thought
Left me distraught, forsaken

I reach my last door
Its just a gap in the fence
As I see where I'll lie
My desires immense

On the sleeper I sit
As I await my fate
Say hello to tomorrow
I'm sorry I can't wait

The light gets brighter
As it nears my life's drama
Tears stream from my eyes
I love you mama

Te Amo

I love the way you look at me
I see right into you eyes
You don’t see me like some others do
With their rumors and their lies

I find it hard to believe
That anyone could ever love me
The way you care proves me wrong
Your kiss makes it easy to see

Without you
Where would I be?
What would life be like
If you weren’t there to hold me?

Blue roses and chocolates have been lying there,
untouched and unopen over three days now,
sadly turning rejection into endless despair;
even light struggles to filter through the closed window...

My gifts aren't appreciated, or even remembered,
and I am torn apart by disbelief and tremor:
with the empitiest feeling ever contemplated;
my disappointed sweetheart expected more...

Perhaps a bracelet or necklace with dazzling diamonds,
would have made her definetely happy like any circus' clown;
if love lusts after material and insignificant things,
it has no sentimental value in itself, only a monetary one...

Uncaring and silent, with a blank and wandering look that
disfigures the divine face I admired and worshiped always,
my embittered darling is overwhelmed with vanity, touching her neck;
sensing visions of glamour and imagining the feel of sapphires...

Everything I gave her was given out of kindness,
and my blue roses and chocolates should be a gift
of the kindest of souls offering the simplest things;
and isn't her greed more implacable than a sullen sky full of rage?

After the Rains

The sensuous two as the rain cascades
Droplets of pleasure like sweet lemonade
Lips in lock exciting their desire
To silken sheets they loving retire

Whilst the winds carry droplets of rain
Internally they connect creating loving champagne
In sync, in rhythm, they joyously caress
Their hips grinding in bodily bless

The rains appease as their loving slows
Two souls united in sensuous glow
Face to face they lie in contented touch
Eyes closed they sleep in tender clutch

I smile at you but you can't see
My back is resting 'gainst your chest
Without this harness I'm so free
Your back's my favourite place to rest

You hold me up in your strong grip
My afro hair's tickling your face
I giggle when you sneeze, and slip
A kiss on your full lips, and trace

A finger along your stubbled jaw
Before I gaze in your brown eyes
Where all I needed I just saw:
A love so deep, without disguise.

Can I rest my weary head on you? There is nowhere else to be Just hear your heart, hear it to Beat its steady beat for me Can we be so quiet here? There is nothing I can say No words in me, so much fear You cannot make it go away Just be for a while, just be So I can sleep, not be afraid Because I know that I'll badly Need every soothing thing you said To feel that I am still alive That I am worth to be around That I am here with you, I've Won this time, feel ground. *** Meme by Mel Copyright Darren White September 20, 2016

Dizzy With Love

I chanced upon a memory
that seems like yesterday
but it was really long ago
and oh, so far away.

It was a chilled November night
and in my thirteenth year
the stars were gathered in my eyes
for the one I loved was there.

We sat there talking quietly
I, full of nervous doubt
just trying to sound normal
thinking that I might pass out.

He was quite a few years older
a friend that had been true
I knew that he had won my heart
and I hoped he felt it, too.

My heart was beating way too loud
through my words I stumbled
and when he looked deep in my eyes
oh, how my stomach tumbled!

I thought that I would die right there
he made my dreams come true
he said the words I longed to hear
he had felt the same way, too!

He swept me quickly in his arms
and claimed that first sweet kiss
I never even had the chance
to worry I would miss!

There isn't much that I can say
it flipped my head around
and all the world was so devine
as I floated off the ground.

The time had come to say good night
and he kissed me once more
I said good night and turned around
and crashed into a door!

The Heart Of The Ocean

You pick me up and fly me away;
Oh my baby, what a beautiful day!
Like a rock, you are strong to withstand the motion,
And your love runs deep, the heart of the ocean.

A Christmas Romance

A Christmas gown worn to delight.
Oh, how I must dress for romance!
My heart skips for his, “Ho, Ho, Ho!”
One kiss then to his sleigh, he goes.

Oh, how I must dress for romance!
A plunging neckline might entice.
Soft candle glow and mistletoe
might slow his pace this whirlwind night.

My heart skips for his, “Ho, Ho, Ho!”
His snow white beard tickles my cheek.
Anticipation weakens me.
A diamond ring waits ‘neath my tree!

One kiss and to his sleigh, he goes,
but New Year’s Day, I’ll make him mine.
I’ll wear a veil of red and white
and Christmas gown for his delight!

Soul Discovery

Out of all the amazing beings
In this infinite universe
My soul called out to yours
Ready to immerse

A strangely familiar feeling
That's something I'll have to get use to
A once in a lifetime love
My eternal déjà vu

I see visions of our destiny
In your jade green eyes
It lucidly paints our forever home
Surrounded by blue skies

This all could be said in fewer words
Or a simpler way to say
That your soul ignites a fire inside me
That only poetry can convey

Masai Boyfriend

Masai Boyfriend

I’m in love with a Masai Boy
  Tall sable-skinned giant.
In hand, a stick his joy
Smile; true lips of a saint!

Wealth: bull, cow and calf
  Safe from creatures feline
Identity, not Masai by half
But, nomad of a royal line.

Sceptre; his wooden sticks
  Royal Cloth, the red robes...
Savouring gore with licks
  Logs stuck in his earlobes.

“Stands with imposing height
  “Scanning the Masai Mara
“On a leg of striking might!”
  So writes his lover Clara.

“High Jumper of renown,”
  Again, she sent the tweets,
“Sound sleep have I known
  “He jumps inside sheets!”

**With Love & Respect for the exemplary fortitude of Kenyan Cultures, whose “imposing height” (evocative of the Masai) is a pride of Human sanctity.

**The Poem is a reflection of, sometimes, a cross-culture and cross-racial marriages that, despite diversity in norms, may bestow a fantastic experience and everlasting bliss.

**With happy memories of my Friend, Gerald Kithinji, a Patriotic Poet of Kenya (his beautiful Homeland.)

In the quiet he sleeps

Darkness abides save flickering candle light
Illuminating his silhouette of masculinity
exhaustion renders an end tonight
Supplanting all previous antiquity

In the quiet he sleeps
Leaning close to steal his breath
As the wanting piques
With the rise and fall of his chest

My lips fall slightly upon his own
Sleepily he begins to stir
For his pause my darling he soon atones
As his hands they caress my curves

You set my passion ablaze again
Our appetite whet for more
Soon transported to a lovers realm
The key which unlocks my door

Though intimacy sweet
It's ecstasy adored
Permanency is what I seek
Our days and nights in one accord

In times passage you'll leave and then
My eyes will covet your face
Abandoned and lonely I'll pick up my pen
Repeatedly this scenario retraced

How I long for the time
Your wife I'll be named
Together our lives redesigned
A longing no more to be feigned

When all our tomorrow's
The missing knows no place
In your arms I know no sorrow
My home in your soul interlaced

Below Skies of Azure Blue

The setting was lovely and blissful, the company so divine
In a flowery meadow we sat, this girl soon to be mine
We talked and laughed and cried a little, under blue azure skies
Reflections so true, of two in love, looking into each others eyes

So many things we discussed, about our today and tomorrows
Ahead in life are trials we'll face, being elation and heartfelt sorrows
The one thing that absorbs us two, is the wanting to extend our hearts
Children so very much wanted, will cement our future start

Our moment warrants distraction, hush! as we listen to the sounds around
Nature resonates in abundance, in her beautiful tranquil grounds
The symphony of insects and birds, our choir on this day
Colours that curtain our presence, in graceful rainbow display

We lie looking at the sky, and the freedom of the birds
Who glide and soar their thermals of life, their liberty never earned
Whilst we lie in this flowery meadow, two souls so free to roam
Freedom is granted to us, on this planet that we call home

For the rest of the day we embraced, in silence and loving bliss
Sharing kisses and moments of touch, with no other I would wish
When the time came to leave, over our shoulders we looked around
For this was the day that our future started, amidst natures beautiful ground

It's many years later now, and our children are as free as can be
We all should live this way, and raise them in liberty

Lost Soul

She glowed
as I grew nearer
to knowing her the better.
The Devil take her soul
that I as much not met her.

Yet still her heart cried out.
Her fever I remember.
Her many stifled thoughts.
Her brain a silent member.

The time it took it's toll.
No interest of concern.
Were she my beckon call
then nothing I would learn.

Then shock of moving forward
to leaving my own fate.
My head upon the bread board.
A slicing for my mate.

The Devil looked the happy.
Deception my first thought.
I'd hit the ground while running
My future in a knot.

My God a man of words
appeared to say go on.
My fight began from there.
The rose leading to dawn.

The days have left me weary.
My memories almost gone.
There's comfort in my knowing
I'm waiting as am drawn.

...and love a passing thought
that anywhere she be...
My love will always count
should she come back to me.

You Found Me

You found me,
When I was alone in a maze.
You helped me see,
Light in each of my days.

I was drowning in an ocean,
And you gave me breath.
You brought back my emotions,
And you saved me from death.

With each beat my heart skips
And gentle touch to true,
I kiss your sweet lips
And whisper, I love you.

Long Live Love

A toss of the head
A flick of her hair
The wave of her hand
As her beauty did flare
Her bountiful step
The spring in her stride
Her laugh as we waked
Hand in hand through the tide
Her mouth with its smile
As we wrote in the sand
Her cries of frustration
As sea coated the land
Those little I love yous
Meant so much back then
That on annual vacations
We repeat them again
For least we forget
In the daily ado
Our marrital vows
Mean forever I do
