Faith, Hope, Love

Lord, I seek from You
Faith, that I may conquer death
Hope, to persevere
Love, that I may love the lost
And love You as You love me

A Walk With You

A walk in the woods...
The sun shines through the tree leaves...
My time with You, Lord...
Under trees, orange and yellow...
With the fresh cool breeze of fall...

Tanka 4

rough gray stones uncut
heaped upon a rugged hill
anchors for crosses
precious those stones became the
day Christ's blood dripped slowly down

Our Savior Is Born

                                                     Star of Bethlehem
Beacon to our new born King
                                              Shepherd, wise man heard
                                             Angels adore him, men bow
                                                   Our Savior, Alleluia!

So real

God is not a man
Unlike man, is not greedy
Ever-mighty is this God
He recognize every tone
Unlike man, is ubiquitous

God’s wisdom ablaze
shining amidst the darkness

One Lonely Tree

It weathered harsh storms

and grew to be very strong

but the day soon came

when life was taken from it

so that Another would die

second coming

                                             You put your hand on
                                           My navel I felt pleasure
                                               Of second coming
As a jasmine smells at night
To claim his earth his kingdom

angels slough caste to chorus
tongues of shepherds freeze
pride-twisted scripture withers
born clean is the King of Souls

a being greater than I

Christmas Tankas

Christmas comes again.
Wonder fills my soul anew.
Babe in a manger,
Mystery of godliness;
God in fragile form.

Yearly I recall
the fullness of time has come.
Made under the law,
a virgin chosen, carries
the God who will save her soul.

A virgin gives birth
In a plain, simple stable.
There is no fanfare,
Yet amidst this humble place
The King of all kings is born.

Did she really know
That this fragile babe, so small
Dependent on her
For the most basic of needs
Was also her Lord Supreme?

divine birth

dawn awakens in
gasping air of a newborn.
signs of divine birth
abruptly fail confusion.
in first breath, goodness knowing
and godly peace is alive.
