Adding Limerick: From reply to April 2 Jan Allison's Wee Man

But Jan, is this a Limerick trick?
Your family, truly, has no Dick and no Rick ...
I could have sworn
Since I, too, had been born
my family had to have had one Mr. Dick!

(c)Deo.I could not bring myself to declare it as clearly last week. Now Good Friday gives way to naughty Saturday ... have at it. Shalom.Smile: Jesus is not a prude, but He does have standards (No adultery, for one. Have limericks though)

Oh To Hear 'Play Ball'

Baseball is on my mind more,
When frigid winds freeze to the core,
Opening day,
Seems eons away,
Snow shovels strike out, wood bats score!

A lways will I remember this day
P riceless memories are here to stay
R euniting with you
I ncredible and true
L ove and laughter will light our way

F oolish to think we could be apart
O nly you has possession of my heart
O bviously your mine
L avishly entwined
S ealed to each other, never to depart

April Fool

It always shows up on this day
The surprise that takes breath away
That thing that you did not want
Will come back to you to haunt
And there's really nothing to say!

April Gave Herself to Me

Dear April gave herself to me;
May probably will as well--
Although neither know the other
And sweet June will never tell!

But Summer cannot know of them,
It would put me in a spot.
Besides, my heart does long for her--
For summer's really hot!

April The Giraffe

April The Giraffe

There is a giraffe in a zoo
Named April and she ate for two
For pregnant she was
Spectators abuzz
And soon little hooves peaked right through

In minutes he fell to the ground
So perfectly healthy and sound
His mom cleaned him well
He stood and then fell
But soon he was walking around.

Sweet April and vet got along
Took care of her all the year long
But touching her calf
Scared Mama giraffe
To kick him where kicks don't belong!

A mom is as fierce as can be
When guarding her new-born, you see
Although there is trust
Hands off is a must
Or price you will pay horribly!

My Hero for April 2017--Dianne Bentley

You're my hero this month, Dianne.
You brought down your unfaithful man.
"Luv Guv," now your ex,
was wild about sex.
One staffer was his greatest fan.

A text meant for her went to you!
Months later you'd bid him adieu,
but first you'd make dang
sure hubby would hang.
Your quiet "campaign" would ensue.

Your audio tapes would assist
the Ethics Committee, whose fist
would come down hard--POW!
The truth is out now.
Tax payers know they have been dissed.

To cover his sins, "Luv Guv" used
their tax dollars. No one's amused!
He's charged; now he'll pay
in more than one way.
All know he was rightly accused.

May 1, 2017, entered in Brian Strand's May Day Premier contest: 25-line max,
any topic or form

Last month, Robert Bentley was forced to resign as Governor of Alabama--
after days of refusing to resign on the grounds he'd done nothing illegal,
the affair. When all of IT hit the fan--that he'd committed crimes by using tax payers' money for cover-up efforts--he had no choice but to step down.
Information (phone records, texts, and tapes) provided by his wife (then-wife) of fifty years led to his downfall. I do admire her. She kept her cool and did the right thing!

He's been charged with two misdemeanors and is to perform community service
in his area of expertise--dermatology. This fact was in the most recent article I read.

My sibling in Dublin

I have a sibling somewhere in Dublin
When I miss her I jump in a wheelie bin
And pen her a limerick
Just to make her smirk
If she don't like my head will spin

April Magic

When April’s wind briskly blew
Beth’s spring skirt billowed and flew:
Men on the street
Got an eye-treat
‘Cause panties, chose Beth to eschew.

Afterwards

It’s easy to gripe and complain
When it seems there’s abundance of rain
But superfluous showers
Give way to sweet flowers
And loveliest hues of terrain.
