GOODBYE

(NOTHING MORE TO SAY)

I've seen the way you look at me
I've seen the way you look at them
Without wanting to admit, you hate everything I stand for
Lying to yourself, you are sweet, caring and better
Still, you look at me and hate everything I stand for
You are a cheat - A liar - A toilet flushing down rain

You seek and want my attention, yet you have no domain
Your THANK YOU's are cheaper than a grin on a Walmart bag
The light - The light - That shines upon your expression
Nothing more than.....
Sour grapes traveling towards the darkest region of the sun
Yes, simple prunes basking all the time!!!!!
Shaking powdered grapes from lobe to lobe
Watching humping wild hogs who can't eat cake
---Desperately you mock yourself---

Before you draw a blank, let me remind you
You look at me and hate everything I stand for
The way I smile, carry myself every day
I never claim to be perfect, but better with no anvil
You can't bear the way I stand in front of the soap display
I embrace with all my spirit, at the end of every day
I'm so glad I am nothing like you or them
In reality, I judged you the moment you walked in

Before the year ends, I will end my affair right here
I have nothing more to say
I hope you all have a great new year.

Silent Page

Silent Heart

Sad, as it maybe, I had to break my OWN heart,
Too many nights, I sat there all torn apart
A dream girl,
Sitting under its own corrupted auspices sky
You the poet, in disguise
Telling white lies about, your love for me
Saying I'm a born from the sky....
A match, a queen, your muse, your everything
I'm no good, I admit this once more,
Your advice, I forever adorn

It's time to follow the crying crows and praise what is left
Afraid to listen my rhymes weren't cutting it,
I release it all!
Your smiles, words, and worn out shoulders
I walked away
Silently--
I acted on
Without a word, in a fetal stage I awake
Tonight you carry a tune for others
A story of a man who stole my soul of sins
A poet, I long forevermore
Always, you will own the only sound that still beats inside
To live alone, in silence, asleep in my own world
I had to let go,
-Of him, whose name I whisper in darkness
The only thing that remains is the echoes of pouring rain

Too many reasons, writer's block, took full moon
You are a poet, from another lifetime,
Down in Mandalay, I can no longer ask you to stay
Reading everything about my life, silent and old
Alliterating poems, greeting every dark shadow, normally yours
Many nights I waited, long for the moment of my OWN return
Instead, I found myself alone
Trying to dust off yesterday's verse, yesterday's dirt
Cobweb remains on my page
My pen now sits like a twig
No motion, since the day I decided I am not worthy of the wait
You the poet, who walks my way
I pressured less of me every day
Like Aspen, a forever winter cold!
Isolated to the world
In your eyes, you wonder why,
I trace the white smoke standing in your place?

To savor your words, once more
It's too soon to breathe again.

I hope you understand,
How can I continue to love when I don't even love myself?

THE RIVER OF TEARS

Wind whistling through the weeping willow tree Its teary leaves drip silently into the fast flowing river They float freely dancing in the dappled daylight Caught in the rustic reeds they plan their escape 10th December 2014

A Goodbye Kiss

Amber streaks brush across the horizon
holding still a little part of me in a perfect memory
a crisp morning breeze caressing weathered lips
begging for one more goodbye kiss
behind closed lids I can clearly see
those honey dipped eyes
staring right back at me
at the man you hoped I'd be
begging for one more goodbye kiss
you fighting your way back
to hold the secrets
keeping these cobblestones in place
time slowly takes it toll as autumn rolls into town
the daylight wanes along with the excitement
hanging on along with the yellow painted leaves
waiting for one final caressing breeze
one last chance to see
and one long lasting goodbye kiss

A Friendly Goodbye

Poem 1: A Boy And His Painted Piano

he used lively greens
tender blues,
touches of plain mauve
and rainbow trout splatters
to paint music
on the gas fumes
that inhabited the clean air
that once use to live there.

he made the ugly decaying
neighborhood i lived in
bearable on even the worse of days.

he was the soft harmless rays of a comforting sun
and responsible for the smiles that broke through
the usual dismay on the faces of seven to ten year olds
already sold on the idea their life expectancies were
somewhere in the low twenties.

life isn't always about the new iPhone being released
he represented hope.
hope that someone could make it out of the sewers and return
to free the whole chain gang presently locked firmly to a large solid steel post.

even in the dingiest basements of the worst streets
somehow, a whiff of hope threads through the tar laden atmosphere
and children rise above the manhole covers
that would otherwise maim their existence and keep them
buried below the impossible dream.

luckily there is always a don quixote who sees beyond
the all too real windmill set to blow others away?

Poem 2: A Street Puddle

what story hides
in this street puddle
what do the reflections want to recite.

one broken flower lies on the wet tar.

the wall cracks from the very bottom to the top
sitting there are black boots quivering
stalked by white boots with their bully badges yelling "comply"
blind to the co-operation to their commands. deaf to pleas of mercy
as black rubbers fall
as the wall echoes their cries
three boots stand and you wonder where lies that fourth boot.

do the mass boots of all kind even care
black feet walk as their words float
to fill the air drawing on the sky "no justice no peace"!
time passes, deceptive winds clear the atmosphere and...
weeds grow through the concrete to climb the walls
you can see the shadows large against this impromptu screen
and nothing changes. white boots rule.

Poem 3: In The Beginning

I have always been here.
I was here when you turned the Earth's Stomach.
When it regurgitated your acid tongue
stripped the land of its roots and nothing grew.

When you thought you could just skate through
but instead fell through the lake and froze the Planet
from one pole to the next.

When you cheated the Sun of its permanent spot.
Had it not been for romance who placed
an infinite sparkler in the night sky
who orbited earth barely clad in her white night silk dress
you might of owned time.

I was here
when you flooded the land
but you hadn't counted on
the amoeba
everything changed and you retreated
to your original pit of fire.

maybe you could deal in souls
you knew what was coming
when the heavens opened
and released the winged guardians

so here we sit
the best i can hope for is
balance
fifty/fifty
good and evil
I'll take my chances with those odds.

Poem 4: A Boy And His Wooden Dragon

a detailed wood carving of a dragons bust leads an ancient
                                                     ship through an unforgiving storm.

if this replica could only breathe fire like the ones in children's tales

still
         his face is lifelike, ferocious!

one could swear trails of smoke escape from his nostrils,
i am convinced his eyes are real emeralds.

the waves against the metal ship,
the salt that dissolves the rust,
                                 flows over the dragons neck,
giving one the impression the creature is bleeding.

old wood has no life flow...
                            ...does it?
    no pump to circulate sap
                                  but!...
...i'm convinced this inanimate portrayal is leaking vital fluid.

the craftsman's hand has...,
perhaps...,
a long shot to say the least...,
maybe?,
given his formation...

can the craftsman's artistic soul be so intense as to breathe
a half life into his meticulously chiseled creation?
how much power does the real artist?...

on a more practical line of thought,
                                                         will we survive?

"who cares" i think "that decision rests not in my hands."
so...
half cocked
i foolishly climb the dragons neck.
i remove my shirt to use as a tourniquet.
i apply it to his gushing neck in an attempt to heal him.
the whole time stroking him in a calming manner

suddenly he releases a breath
he opens his jaw wide
and exhales fire equal to that of a volcanic eruption.

and just like that
the storm stops.
the sky flashes his baby blues.

would we make it back to land?
is this just an ironic pause in the inevitable egregious battle yet to come?

time would tell.
time always tells.
never trust time with a secret.

                          time would tell
                                      after all
                      that is all we have
                                  us humans
                                              time
                                               and then..

CHAN

Ghost knight, playing Tolkienesque chords
over common, white noise,

I still hear you, cosmic brother,
strumming the songs of pentagrams
           from your optical guitar,

like that scene out of Star Wars,
all were always welcome at your wild bar –
interplanetary troubadours, euphoric warriors
or a ninja geek incognito, a wistful rhymer
         who knew truth seldom whispers,
love is the only real free-artistry,
requiring no discipline, no perimeters,
no limits and no definitions

I still hear you, cosmic brother,
so alive, streaming a high volume
of colours, blue still holds a torch for you,
loud and proud,red engulfs night
without one regret,

but its your delicate gold, my friend,
         I can never forget

- Au Revoir - Goodbye -

- 2016 -

- JANUARY -

A freezing cold evening

Where the stars shining bright

With frost blade flanks

From mouth and nose steam

In the clear silence

White untrodden snows

Nature's frozen pulse

Sleep like a little baby

One gracious moon

After the night the light is shattered into gold

At sunrise raise your heartbeat

- FEBRUARY -

The ground is chained in frozen iron
Snow crystals glued on pine cones
Overhangs embroideries of polished ice
The wind shakes and shatters them into millions of pieces

Slowly more brightness toward longer days
A new light is born across a white landscape
With its beauty and bliss a squirrel in a pine tree
Thoughts and reflections how beautiful it is

- MARCH -

Kong winter resolve his power struggle to live a little longer
Cold soil protects wild modest tiny flowers
March deserve tribute by an dignified pen
A soothing voice whisper in dew wet morning sun
When Spring youthful glory revitalises

With blessed glow in brilliant charm
A soft mother breast for all to be born again
Nature pregnancies seeds of life
Spring unveiled with a colorful smile
We go brighter times ahead, wakes up from beauty sleep
Princess Spring I feel lucky and almighty

- APRIL -

Spring marks the end of winter and start of summer
It is lovely with colorful contrasts
Norway is a long country with a lot of mountains and valleys
Wide variations in climate from south to north and from east to west

Migrant's return, and the first flower is coltsfoot
Both humans and animals awakened by hibernation with new energy
The sun is high, no snow falls and the birds singing
Small downy mouse ears to be leaves on birch tree

- MAY -

May show us how beautiful you are
A Spirea blooms like a beautiful and white cloud in the garden
Beautiful spring bride
Dressed with creation she herself had designed
A golden ring of eternal happiness
The veil thin and beautiful like cobwebs kisses her cheek

May is the month with wonderful contrasts
As sure as the sun rises each morning
When I turn my face toward the warm sun
I feel it gives me new energy

Seventeenth of May is Norway's National Day
We lift up the flag in red, white and blue
Freedom
The sky is blue, as far as the eye can see
A celebration of sun, spring, life and eternal love

- JUNE -

The sun constantly light flickers through the air and brighten up long nights
The summer carnations were Gods flower for the Greeks
They bloom earlier than most other species
A delight to the eye throughout the summer

Midsummer night - Midsummer Celebration 23rd and 24th June
A dear child has many names it is said,
and Midsummer night is no exception
Across Norway celebrated it with large fires
Some placed a rag doll on top of the fire
The witches burnt this night

Dance, music, porridge and flower garlands with carnations
Barbeque, Norwegian strawberries and fireworks all night
If a young girl picks seven or nine various mode herbs that night,
and put them under the pillow, she would dream of her future husband

- JULY -

No doubt that July is a beautiful summer month
It is the year's best month is named after Julius Caesar himself

Summer raindrops pierced by sunbeams
Just think of how precious privilege it is to wake up to bird song

Columbines are still in full bloom, they are charming
Spices herbs for diversity and for flavor

Who would have anything against sitting in the garden all day
and let you tickle a bit of a grape plant in the neck

Flowers and plants are an important part of summer
Enjoy it all with family and good friends

Fair weather clouds that just gives a little variety in all the blue
July is synonymous with holidays for most

The temperature and enthusiasm rises
This summer we will swim in the ocean and eat lots of ice cream

- AUGUST -

Our receptive hearts have allready heard
The breeze reports August

The shadows fall when the day is done
Roving winds and rain are waiting

For every day that passes, the autumn is preparing
Goodbye butterfly, wondering where your journey ends

When that day comes, I will kiss you softly
The painting will change color and give the landscape a blush

We always seek, and new jewels will be found
It hurts to say it, but the summer has an end

- SEPTEMBER -

Let autumn wind whisper its song
Summer sunshine rays from yesterday we remember
After a long and lovely summer,
it often feels like autumn kept going cold and gray
But the truth is that this is one of the most colorful month

Now comes the polar night and the storm's time is near
We celebrated Thanksgiving in connection with the harvest
Autumn is yellow, red and orange
This is perhaps the finest with the autumn
Take a hike and you will see how beautiful it is out there

- OCTOBER -

The life light shimmers in the air
Love and delights

Death and pain
Drowsy in numbness

The leaves have never known
Embalmed darkness with grief

Cold winter is coming soon
Silver bells and white snow

Stardust, northern lights and moonlight
While wonder and guesses

- NOVEMBER -

Daylight change, and go to its winter rest
Night frost drips from the eaves

A cold wind rushed and shoveled his way
Caught your lungs with clear icy air

In this deep cold, it feels just right
Leave the door open to be a part of the season

Human rhythms always searching
The lunar takes its own bath in silver dust

November night will show you: The Milky Way
Keep your senses and soul awake, and enjoy it

- DECEMBER -

Some say they can smell the spring
... Is it possible to smell December?
A scent of something can hit you
anytime and anywhere

The frost sneak up on the night
and color the landscape white
Northern Lights with its spectacular light
dancing in the sky
Beautiful music, has no borders
Creating a sense of meaning

So stop fighting against wind turbines
December is the month for reflection
Joy and peace ~ when darkness falls
"A child is born in Bethlehem"

If We Ever Were Friends

Nauseated thoughts about colourless, odourless, demeaning and hurtful words replay in my head, making me feel so small . They swell in my mind, twisting my stomach, urging me to throw-up poisonous venom of false accusations you've pumped in my blood -stream. But I know , that after I'll regurgitate this heartache you've caused, I will be relieved. I will celebrate the accomplishment of living without thinking of your existence. This time there'll be no effort to repair, nor would I feel the need to defend myself for things I didn't do.This time I'll take no wrong decisions No, I will not be coming back to you , to your illusional lies'parasites. No, I will not clinch to memories of better times and inseperable moments Of sugar- coat sweetness and diabetic aftermath . My subconscious will memorize , but only the final act of your dramatic moods. Our friendship is at permanent loss, but I won't waste precious time scattering its ashes, nor mourning its death. No, there'll be no regret. I 'll embrace new rose-gardens without feeling bruised , without feeling used, after all has been done and said.
Fiction poem - just in case : ) ! Though in reality not all friends we so call friends are true.

When I Leave this World

When I leave this world
It won’t be silently
NO, I will leave behind a note
A note of reproach
For the sin of humanity
In the inability to feel with…to feel for
To truly love
Another human being
Who has the curse of being….
Different

When I leave this world
My words I’ll behind
To a world that was unkind
To a world that only loved
Cookie cutter shapes and sizes
A world with a status quo
That couldn’t be tampered with
A world that embraced
The lovely
The beautiful
The happy….oh the happy
Those with perpetual smiles
With lilting voices of angels
And with beauty of the ages
Those worthy of love
Serene angelic doves
Who never felt despair
But were always bright and fair

When I leave this world
I will leave behind
A legacy for those
Who were unloved
Who didn’t have sound minds
Who struggled along the way
Who tried to be beautiful
Who tried to smile
Through ripped and aching hearts
Who tried to stay afloat
When others would just gloat
Those who tried to be brave
But longed for the grave
To those I will say
“You are beautiful
You are worthy
You are precious
You are priceless
Your mind though tormented
Is full of beautiful treasure
Don’t blame yourself
For not being able to fit
In this selfish and crazy world
You are not a misfit
The world is unable
To make itself fit
To the dazzling beauty of you
So, just do what it takes
Just do what it takes
To get through the pain
To get to tomorrow
Maybe, maybe
You’ll hear my voice
Whisper to you in the breeze
Telling you to make the world
A better place
A more caring place
Because of YOU!"

Goodbye Song

Another haunted night, I watch raindrops fall from consolatory words, track each plane flying south, and I think of you. My lungs empty a lonely sigh… I bullet a dark, heaving sky with my angry words as I curse you for walking away again. I remember the starlings that came earlier; they circled low, then perched along the eaves while the sun held me in afternoon glow, as if to say goodbye, friend. We will meet again. I should have known. Night after night, shadows march a solemn procession across a long-faced moon. I know he is mourning, too. Weeds tangle my thoughts until I dream in a web of mismatched memories and neglected clues - so many questions, left in a heap at the foot of our bed, no answers said out loud. Solitude plays games with my heart; mocking me tonight, the house wins again. Why do I gamble after I lost you before? How many times have you walked out that door? I try to mend cracks exposed when darkness fades into golden dawn. I try to color my crumpled world like a child. I paint smiles on your face in our albums to tell myself lies. I replay the moment you walked away; I envision every detail down to one lace that dangled from your new shoes, new shoes bought to step into our new life together. I remember when we wrapped ourselves in our dreams to keep warm. One day, your face will dissolve like a rain puddle on a summer day. One day, I’ll say goodbye and start again. Maybe today will be that day. At least today, I’ll try. A lone starling in a dark, glossy suit lands on my window sill at break of dawn. It wakes me with its sweet, warbled song and waits long enough for me to rise from bed so I might feel the promise of a new day shine into my soul. Then, as my tears fall soft like spun silk, he spreads his wings and flies away. In light of dawn’s blessings, I am the starling, singing a goodbye song. I pray, tonight, I dream of anyone but you. written April, 2014

Pieces of Me

I wonder what becomes of pieces of me
which I tear out and lay bare,
search through with loving care,
painstakingly gathering the fragments
and forming them into simple gifts;

I know it’s not much, but it’s all I have to give -
so I try to create just the right thing
that might reflect the essence of who I am
or how I feel about the person receiving.

What happens to these pieces of me that I share?
I take them and lovingly arrange them in layers
and wrap them carefully in a fragile shell -
are they appreciated and cherished?

I’d like to think they are placed gently
into the hearts of those for whom they were created
I want to believe that, once inside, they move and stir
and that, by them, I might make a difference to someone,
and that I might become a tiny part of their world.

What becomes of those pieces of my heart
when they are not seen as a gift imparted;
when they are not kept as treasures to hold?
Are they taken as something to be used?
Or swept aside like they mean nothing,

burned up in the fires of indifference,
blown casually away in an unresponsive breeze?

Maybe they remain, buried and hidden,
releasing a fragrance - a beautiful energy,
a positive force, of which my recipient is unaware.

Sometimes I wish I could take back everything I’ve given
which were unappreciated and cast aside;
gather them back, and store them all up
to replenish my limited supply -
because sometimes I feel I’m running low.

But, I can’t take back what I’ve freely bestowed.
So I hope that for every part of me
that is received with indifference or apathy,
there are many others that are being treasured
as the expressions of love they were meant to be.

This is a re-post... and my last poem here for a while. I'm leaving pieces of me here, in the friendships I've made, even the ones that have ended.

Eternity In His Mind

He reached his fingers to the stars
 willed his legs to move
forced his head so far back
   that in his body's arc
    his dance's bridge
     allowed sunlight particles
      (elated faeries)
       to traverse

He saw his lean lithe body
     pirouette and position,
ran screaming from one side to the next
in a perpetual wish to catch
that last step, that last grand
 pointe, to capture small smiles
for infinity in his psyche

 He said adieu to his last dance;
  farewell to the music
   only his ears could capture,
goodbye to a world of ballet
     his choreography no longer
      visible, but still resonating
       in time and space where
        once he moved.

Romance was not our Muse

Romance was not our muse, he types
Not writes his farewells before each morning -
A simple 'Till tomorrow' left by cooling sheets.

We started as lovers, before we were friends
Speaking in touches instead of thoughts
Every night he clouded our secrecy
With cigarette smoke, an ashtray beneath my bed,
A counter of the days we were spent.

But a playful joke turned bittersweet, I slipped
My favourite glinting stud, a gift
In his pocket lining, finding instead a reminder
Of sin and silent lives, a ticket
To home and back to reality.

In dawn’s light and an empty bed, I wrapped
Bruised red lips around his fading cig, enjoying
The lingering taste of him and his ashy breath.

Romance was not our muse, I type
Not write my farewells before the morning -
A simple 'Good-bye' left by cooling sheets.

Write you OUT

I think it’s time I write
Write you OUT
Of the coming pages of my life
Oh…you linger
On every page
that's ever been
Keeping the plot a disguise
Unexpected events
My heart's demise
Slowly but surely
being written
By your unseen hand
I reread chapters
You were in my yesterday
You haunt my today
I don’t want you in my tomorrow
Not when you only bring me pain

No
I’m going to write you out
Cause I couldn’t write off
The debt of pain
I STILL OWE
To your oh so exacting heart...
I can't write it off
and so...
I’ll do the next best thing
I'll write you OUT

Out of the next scintillating sizzling sexy sentence
Out of the next dreamy dreamscape
Out of the next contentment compartment
Out of the next feminine fruition fantasy
For you've written only fragments
Sentence fragments of the greater picture me
Oh my!
Oh me!
I’m going to write you OUT
Of MY book
Of rememberance
The book of ME
Oh, it could have been
The best seller of your LIFE
But now you'll never know
Cause the coming pages are clean
for some beautiful soul
Some expert author
With the plot of pleasure
Bursting from his heart
Onto me
I'll LET HIM
Scribble his lines
Those glorious curves and dots
all over my body and mind
all over me...
Yes....spill his passion inked words
ALL....OVER....ME!!
And him..
HIM
I'm going to write IN
Oh...so deep and gloriously...IN
The book of ME

Cold Measurements

Do not think there is a day I do not want Or a week, or even a year I repulse Do not think I do rebuff Any part that is you If there is something I abhor it is the distance... the distance that you put between us In miles, lightyears and the length Of your arm In cold measurements of two cups water, three cups ice, you dose our lives You dispense your time in small pills The wild that we were so long ago Turned tame and subdued A gilded cage with open door Do not think there is a day I do not miss Who we once were. I reject Who we are now. I set you free. *** March 24, 2017 Copyright © Darren White

Bill

R.I.P. William Dale Eubanks
d. July 1, 2012, aged 68 yrs., Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee

Death came as no surprise
the first Sunday in July;
it claimed you, on a ridge in Tennessee,
with kin who took you in and waited with you
through the last hard days.
You kept what fears you had well hid,
did not betray with loud complaint
the fate you could not but know awaited.
A smile, a joke, a hug – exotic meals –
And genuine interest greeted all you met.
And you were, certainly, never boring
but well-traveled and smart
beyond the telling.
We’ll miss your wit, your bright demeanor,
and will remember all you freely gave ---
and what you took from us
with your passing.

Darkness Of Night

Darkness of night,
introduce me to what lurks
underneath your enchanting moonbeams.
I know that I should stay away,
yet, I am drawn to these silent things
that could easily end me.
I am not afraid of the supernatural.
I am spellbound, enraptured, mystified
by these psychotic creature's requiem dance,
that captures my soul
as it's own possession.

Darkness of night,
take me into your underworld,
where the arms of roaming specters
can totally envelope me,
like a densely tangled spider-web,
with no intention to ever let go.
Allow them to take me away,
to a deep place where, peacefully,
my dying soul can finally rest.

Darkness of night,
tell the devil only this....
he can have all of me,
to punish in any befitting manner.
I have already been through torture,
known pain, lived with loneliness,
and seen hell on earth.
The devil may care to try,
but he cannot hurt me any more.

Darkness of night,
say goodbye for me.
Shout high up to the heavens
and tell the sun it needs to shine
no longer on me.

Dedicated to the one I didn't write this for

And I love you
Like a dog’s first date
With a fire hydrant

No, that’s not right.

I worship you
As if you were a wine collection owned by Jesus
Minus the prerequisites

Better.

Wait, it’s you again, my yesterday.
Why are your eyes seducing my stanzas?

You linger in my mist
Equivalent to a bipolar lighthouse

Blinking rapidly for hope to notice your sadness
While your light bulb remains cracked

Go away!

Ok, back to it.

No longer do I need careless whispers.

I just want to hold your hand
Swinging life away from skeletons’ demeanor

Be my sun, as I rise
I’ll be your sun, as we set

Damn it, I smell your unwashed lyric again!

Why do your illiterate, colored eyes remain atop my mountain?!

I tossed your heart off my peak
That humidified night in June
When God’s tornado told me to stay away from your fallacy!

You’ve become a rejected stranger, stranger.

Sigh, ok, one last try.

You want me to be your diamond
On platinum band

But, I just want to be an “I miss you”, tomorrow.
I can ask no more than this.

To be a chorus in your daily songs,
I request

ENOUGH!!!

You continue glazing my thoughts
Hang gliding your way through my handsome vernacular

You were an exclamation point
Turned into closure’s period

Now, my fortitude shall delete your dialect
With whimsical laughter compiled
From shattered dreams of old

…

An illuminated solstice
Waving goodbye
To onyx, cotton puffs in my Ionosphere

Please
Return
Nevermore

My Angel, I’m sorry I drifted against my sea of distant memories.

Love does not frighten me.
But, it tries.

I can only be certain of today.

I will sacrifice my pride
To become a pauper in your royal presence
If it means our eyes can become a correlated breath

I implore,
Be my tomorrow
These stanzas were only ever gifted for you

Be my tomorrow
For I’ve dishonorably discharged my yesterdays

Moments In Time

The sweetest sounds of burning trees
A gentle stroking in the breeze
The calm has lasted past the storm
Cloudy visions, Satan’s roar
Too many sights have passed my way
A time found only in the haze
The softest screams are running bare
My aching bones creak as I stare

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark

The battle’s started at the end
No one is coming to repent
The sinners grab their wine from prey
No judgment calling here to stay
The sport is reckless to be told
The one is laughing at his souls
It falters nowhere to be sure
The power grows forevermore
Like a spirit in the wind
I have no say in where you’ve been
But cross the line to come to me
And pay the price for ecstasy

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark.

Without You

Another emerald leaf
Tumbles

Her desolation
Eve of sinful revelation

Whisper’s entrails
Swaying flat on asphalt conundrums

Her dismissive solidarity
Holding of hands
Eyes, opposite

Kisses
Like desert nights under hollow rain

Drizzled animosity,
Tomorrow she’ll tell me she loves me
Without calling me, “baby”

Lover’s pacifier, unwashed

Winds of remembrance
Shut away in Pandora’s tossed box

For I, kneel
Towards angelic genesis
With diamond clarity

Embrace of cupid’s incipience

Where
I
R e m o v e
You

My voice ascends
Into constellation octaves

Now
Without
You

It Seems To Me But Yesterday

On the edge of the sand I sit alone 'n perpetual solitude where I am least without you Embracing a worn out sweater I recall your name written in the stars I recall your life carved upon my heart This heart which never lived to know love's depth Smudged lashes flutter as fallen dewdrops trickle across the pale glow of my cheek I gasp for air ,still holding to a dream which dies ever so slow before it is ever born. With heavy eye-lids I gaze into a starry sky awaiting the moon to move on Cuz I know,You know The moon always moves on But tonight, tonight is the longest of dark nights Tonight every spirit is silent and everything is still It seems to me but yesterday You were here by my side I believed We'd come to be yet We never will Maybe in a tomorrow a fragrant wind would breathe its zephyr breeze upon the scarlet of my lips But I know,It would not be your kiss Or maybe I would hear a hush-hushed whisper 'neath the tender of my ear But I know,It would not be your song which sprinkles everlasting bliss It seems to me but yesterday You were here by my side I believed We'd come to be yet We never will Maybe in a day after,or ever after the small red lighthouse brings back your sails to my land and our footprints lead the path to where last peach trees stand But till then, empty is the womb which births your touch from wafts of waves Sterile is the sea which calls your name Till then, Aborted is each thought which owns this soul Till then I would not be here Our world would be forsaken Till then, every remembrance of who We are would all be gone.

Echoes of Good-Bye

My life began with you and me Two hearts, two minds, two pieces of a dream Two individuals who loved without conditions Two people who felt feelings beyond recognition Two who became one like God planned long ago My life began with sunshine streaming through the trees Lighting up the world with misty sunbeam reflections Of all that has been or ever will be mirrored in the brightness Sparkling with effervescent fantasy and heartbeats Beating out a rhythm of pulsating aspirations My life began with sensations of colorful flames Flickering with hypnotizing hues of blushing songs Captivating my heart with mystery and wonderful thoughts Reaching into my senses and pulling out a gentle touch Carefully caressing each whisper of imagination My life began with intense feelings exploding within Capturing my muse, my inspiration, my idea of what should be A new moment, a new thought, a new promise All emotions piercing the inky ocean of feeling Until a single tear splashes against my cheek My life began with the thrill of renewed hope A moment impassioned with ambition’s desire Assurances of talent’s perceptions being cleared Anticipation sweetly breathing out a tender concept Reminding me that there are always new days to begin again My life began with a single tearstained thought Breathing reminders of precious moments spent with you All sparkling with promises for a lifetime of love and passion Carefully folded into threads of sincerity and serenity Echoing a soft farewell that continues to resonate through me

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

My words seep onto the page like poetic tears Drip Drip Drip Words once leached from every inch of my psyche Now my friends, my time has come It is time for me to depart The light in my life is fading Soon it will be extinguished I will be gone from your lives forever … Yet my words will always remain I have been on a journey of a lifetime Writing changed my life forever I’ve shared my hopes and dreams The good times and the bad With laughter and tears If you have one memory of me Remember how I made you smile I will never spill a drop of ink again It’s finally time to say adieu For it is too late for goodbyes These are the final words I will ever write … Until we meet again For contest 26th August 2015

AT THE FINAL GOODBYE

The congregation
mingled within the silent
stone slabs of their
ancestors, a final goodbye
to yet another
destined to leave this place.
Yet to one, in this his
profound sorrow an
enchanting moment.
He craved! With a soul
sensitive and true to
touch a living memory,
his lips again to caress
her symbolic smile.
His need to glance upon
her northern eyes of blue,
stroke her flowing
“Celtic Flame”
That, while strolling in lanes
of love rebelled against
the moorland breeze.
He desired to paint this
memory of that moment
the very first day they met,
bestow in this a silent tribute
to the emotions within
their secrets, those, no one
else could ever share!

Witness and Behold the End

White Lilies,
Scattered on the ground,
Out of their element.
Witness,
Purity,
Deprived of its origin.
Behold,
Clarity no longer visible.

White Roses,
In the purest snow,
Frozen to the core.
Witness,
Loveliness,
Stripped away so rash.
Behold,
Beauty destroyed.

White flowers,
All around,
Trampled into dust.
Witness,
Wildness,
Stolen without knowledge.
Behold,
Endless death fighting to prevail.

Sense of Touch

That Bench He goes there every day; to that bench in the shade; Where his shoes have formed small clearings in the gravel; where his wool sport coat has rubbed smooth the paint. He goes there every day, to that bench in the shade where the squirrels eat straight from his hand as little birds frantically snatch up seeds he's sprinkled about. He goes there every day, to that bench in the shade but not today…and not again.

Without you

I have been on our beach, for 6 hours today
I watched it fill up with umbrellas and tourists

I watched children play in the sand
Adults in the sea playing with a bat and ball

I watch families
Sons, daughters, mums dads and grandparents
Enjoying the golden sun of the Algarve.

Children with ice creams spilling down their faces
Children covered in sun cream, to protect them from future harm.

I sit on dry sands made of miniature fossils
And I write, pages upon pages

Of pain, sorrow and tears
Of lost love, cruelly taken
Of sadness and heartbreak
Of grieving,
Of lost time, never to be regained

I cannot write of happy cheerful times
I cannot forget
I cannot forget.
You,
Who you were
The way you touched me
Smiled at me
Kissed me
Stole my heart
Then you left
With no goodbye
A vacuous space sits
Where you should be

You were my soul, my Angel my protector
Now you are a just a memory
Fading in the distance
As I wave you goodbye
For the last time
In my head
Tears sting my eyes
As I try to walk forwards
To our beach
Our golden sun
Without you…………

Scarlet Leaf

The stunning scarlet leaf flows with gentle fervor.
Freedom requires a depth of beauty for natures
relinquished desires. There seems to be a dynamic
image brought forth from the soft breeze that
whispers dainty goodbyes. For our love is gone
and so is the memory of the branches from our
favorite sapling. I needed you like a breath of
fresh air. You lost me in the wind.

                                      -delicate crimson…
