The Sonnet That Missed The Grade

I know with that “Ode” to a “Sonnet” - It didn’t meet the grade . . .
“But” that’s only on account that as a “Poet” - I never get paid . . . ; )

THE “SONNET” THAT MISSED THE GRADE . . .

The thing I'm now hitting on is to sort ‘em flippin’ “Syllables” out . . .
The amount of “Syllables” needed per line - I know “Nowt” about . . .

One - two even three Syllables can be found within just one word . . .
There are ten Syllables to every line - soon I’ll be a “Sonnet” nerd . . .

There is only so much I can cope with - “Hell” If I knew the score . . .
If not “Decasyllabic” it is not a “Sonnet” - “But” oh there is more . . .

A line in exception can be accepted to the before and after lines . . .
"Thus" can still be "Whittled" in - as you may wish to be inclined . . .

All seems a bit of a “Cheat” to me - because put to a famous name . . .
Seems you can do anything you wish and change the bloody game . . .

If I have to hear a “Shakespeare’s” take on a “Sonnet” once more . . .
I am “Gonna” rip up every single one of his flippin’ so called scores . . .

“So” alas “Poor” Yorick - just what are you trying to edge in to say . . . ?
That I get some "Learning" in and maybe see me here another day . . .

The “Sonnet” has yet to get me down - though I say it with a frown . . .
I see a “Sonnet” to beat all “Sonnets” - gone soon will be the clown . . .

Fare Thee Well -Couplet Sonnet-

Fare thee well my love your soul flies free like a dove. We shall be together again we shall walk hand in hand. I shall love thee forever my heart will float like a lonesome feather. The skies shall always be the bluest of blue the love we shared shall forever be true. Our souls shall be some day as one whilst I remember thee under the sun. May you never forget me my heart will always be with thee. Your soul now flies free like a dove fare thee well my one and only love. The Last Lament - To A Sonnet

To "Teppo" - I may have given up on writing a "Sonnet" . . .
"But" friend - it can never be seen as ever - "Forgotten" . . . ; )

THE LAST LAMENT - TO A SONNET

Head bowed - I hang my cap - I stand in my shame . . .
For want of trying too clever in - my own poetic aim . . .

The “Sonnet” was just too clever for me in its rules . . .
With it I have lost to the Supersonic “Sonnet” duel . . .

But worry for me not - nothing in the end was lost . . .
“Couplets” Queen I am - I’ve now found to my cost . . .

I will leave the “Sonnet” - to those who know best . . .
Fool me would ever throw myself again to the test . . .

I written such - but I never knew of my own game . . .
I know now “Couplets” poetry - has its own name . . .

One does not have to sophisticate between the lines . . .
As long as one knows how to make it all into rhymes . . .

Within two lines a story can be born bought and sold . . .
Leaving a reader plundering excessively - to its whole . . .

With another two lines added with it - just ups it game . . .
As long as the two lines don't end up saying the same . . .

As me “Dyslexic” - so long to be able to even this write . . .
All those thoughts- stories - poems I hear in the night . . .

Learning never went to whether it was a verb or a noun . . .
Found myself writing it - however it may come to sound . . .

Should I in progressing my ante - to all then be uplifted . . .
Then on with it all as what I see to me as - “God” gifted . . .

And then on in passing my pen should then become idle . . .
A press of a page here I can read from all the poet idols . . .

Now in my head with your help - become more inspired . . .
This my - poetic friends - in truth can’t ever be denieth . . .

“Sonnets” are from now for me - things to be read and enjoyed . . .
Whence the hard work you have put in can be - no longer toyed . . .

A lesson to us all in its skill - a token to you I now with it admire . . .
No longer now in its fundamental intelligence am I now in its mire . . .

But as to you my “Sonnet” as to write - I can only be "Lamented" . . .
Trying to get one penned to paper – so near left me "Demented" . . . ; )

After thought . . .

“So” - all “Hail” to our very own real “Sonnet” exquisite - ers . . .
Sat in the “Pub” penning it all - while scuppering a few beers . . . ; )
