In Your Sleep
When we walked the long garden path together
in times tough and in times enticing,
you were tired and drowsy, needed to rest,
but did not let the waiting sleep enter the eyes,
for you stored your sleep safely deep within
the bright crystals of your sparkling eyes.
You didn’t see the wheel of time roll by,
while you’re on the track to complete the journey,
we began together, you didn’t know why.
The path we travelled together side by side,
ended one day in blind alley with your time,
that made you to take another one
on a lonely journey away from me,
far beyond my reach, but you didn’t know why.
Many years later on a rain-soaked dusk
you would stop to walk any farther.
Your crystal eyes would search the clouded sky,
find me reflected in the rainbow colors.
Melting clouds would drizzle, sing a lullaby,
you’d close the moist eyes,
get the sleep you stored deep within.
Butterfly would bring dream of me
from the rainbow, you won’t know why.
