Yellow Butterfly
A little yellow butterfly,
black accents on its wing.
Was on a mission, as it fluttered by,
seeking the delicacy flowers bring.
To and fro, rise and dip,
tasting nectar, so sweet.
Every bud, offering a sip,
gladly sharing their treat.
The busy little butterfly,
darted from bloom to bloom.
Soon the essence could run dry,
and daylight would fade to gloom,
Finally satiated after taking its fill,
it flew from the oasis of flowers.
Tired little wings, found a windowsill,
to rest, awaiting daylight hours.
