World Seemed So Forsaken At her new grave he knelt to pray, words he had failed to say. How she meant love and joy in life before she was his wife. Now that dark shadow had taken, world seemed so forsaken. Tears fell as he whispered sad words, Spring came but no song birds. He knew she heard but could not speak once strong, now he was weak. Now that dark shadow had taken, world seemed so forsaken. At last, he went into a trance recalling their romance. Rain fell yet he cared not at all she was gone, let it fall. Now that dark shadow had taken, world seemed so forsaken. Sun came out, he knew twas her smile, he'd see her in a while. Pills he took, had taken effect soon they would both connect. Now that dark shadow had taken, world seemed so forsaken. R.J. Lindley April 12th, 1976

Thank you my friend. I can not recall what inspired me to write this one and on this one I left no note to remind me, as most oft I did on my poems back then.

Thank you my friend. Unless one has went through such immense and painful sorrows they can not fully appreciate why sometimes, loved ones, feel so very hopeless and may even chose to join their loss beloved.

Thank you my friend. Very pleased that you found it so. When posting it, I saw a younger me and I thought to myself , perhaps this one was actually fairly good after all.

It's got that touch of invocation... an emotional identification...a sacrificial love...All the best Robert

Thank you my friend. Such loss, the epic pain and deepest of sorrow that it brings can send one into the darkest abyss. And oft one can only think of one way to escape such calamity.
