Such a lovely story, brilliantly told. I love romantic, heartfelt poetry. For some reason, reading this fine work, I was reminded of "The Highwayman," a favorite of mine, that has inspired my sensitivities often. Great collaboration. Thank you for sharing! And a happy ending!! Joe.

Thank you my friend. "The Highwayman," is a favorite of mine as well! This creation combined the romantism with the dutiful sacrifice so many endured while -their men- were away during WW2. And the joy of the happy reunions of those returning home safe and sound. Omitted was the sad and tragic reality of war and its hideous destruction. As we both wanted this creation to highlight the romanticism and dutifyul dacrifice so many stay at home wves and lovers endured while waiting for the conclusion of that massively destructive conflict. History is not to be ignored. Our younger generations should be taught about WW2, imho. As our schools now give it not very much in-depth coverage in their teachings, imho. God bless..

Thank you my friend. Yes, love and sacrifice is main theme of this poem created by Susan and I. And that many today should look back, and see the necessity of that when facing some of today's travails. Use that as a way to judge how to respond. Sort of a guide post. And see that love -true love has unbelievable powers to see one through anything life may throw at one. God bless.

Love is the root of all that amaze.. Insight is the revelation of our worlds' journeys.. Human souls when empowered by Love, they transcend their limitations as human beings and grow able to attain the inconceivable.. Love renders human souls the angels of the Earth with super powers that humanise more the human nature.. Thank you my friend. I think that Susan and I get in sync with these collaborations we have done. Because she has such a deep insight into poetry and its purpose/meaning, not just to herself but to others as well! This poem expresses the tragedy od war and at the same time the greatness of the war wives at home that sacrificed so very much. In this case the subject was WW2, the returning soldier and that soldier's loving, dutiful, and faithful wife having endured so very much.Yet never faltering. As was the reality that millions lived through. God bless...

Thank you my friend. I am blessed indeed to have such a dear friend and excellent writing partner as is Susan. Due to both of are recent schedules this poem took longer but it was well worth it. To remind the world of the sacrifices of those on the homefront while their beloved are away defending the nation. This one was composed on my part about a friend I had long ago and his time fighting during ww2. How grateful he was to God for surviving and being reunited with his beloved wife. And most definitely she was also for God having spared her beloved husband. Susan certainly hit all the high marks, as she always does. God bless..

Thank you my friend. This poem was set to remind us what sacrifices not only our men and women that are engaged in defending us but also the great sacrifice of those that stay at home waiting for the return of their loved ones. This one was based upon the experiences of the women/wives and families during WW2. And in this case, the long awaited but very happy reunion that finally occured between husband and beloved wife. God bless...
