Wish I Had Known You When I Was Young
WISH I HAD KNOWN YOU WHEN I WAS YOUNG
If I had known you when I was young
Maybe my life would not have gone wrong
I may have chosen a different road
And ended up with a lighter load
The road to destruction I chose to take
Led to trouble and much heartache
I lost so much along the way
I became more miserable day by day
I walked this road until I was old
My addiction had me in its hold
I tried on my own to break the chain
It made me think I'd go insane
Then one day, I saw the light
Oh glorious day, such a beautiful sight
To learn of a Savior who died for me
And from my addiction, He set me free
Today I travel on a different road
Helping others to get rid of their load
I tell them how my life went wrong
Because I didn't know Him when I was young
