Winter Twilight
After a long walk reaching broken ground
I stand awhile to look pensively around
See the dense dusk descend on the dust
In the twilight hours of winter ending fast.
As the travelled road fades behind a veil
I try to find the known faces getting frail
See them break and mingle in the dust
In the twilight hours of winter ending fast.
Near the end of the road not quite far
I wait awhile at the time’s edge to decipher
How would the cold night fall on me just
In the twilight hours of winter ending fast.
When the day’s last wind begins to flow
I hope the fading light will prolong to show
How to fly on the wings of the dark dust
In the twilight hours of winter ending fast.
