winter died

Lithe, aromatic, lightness of touch. new breeze upon stale air affronts. my soul waits for moments like these. roam within winsome sapling you fragrant gentle wind - bringing relief to aged countenance. take me back to days gone passed when spring meant the eve of longer days and winter died in enthusiasm of laughter and endless romps in sultry days. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I've read some of your work. You have a lyrical approach to poetry with unexpected turns of phrasing. The use of "romp" in the last line will doubtless conjure up (to some readers) sexual activity, if that was your original intention in using this word. Best to you in your writing endeavors. / M

Thank you so much. It was not my intention to add sexual inuendo, but I am always the last to know :) I reach back further into my past - when I was a child and summers were long and there was no angst of any impending future that we carry as adults. There was nothing but the 'now'

Hi Rick, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@
