Why Will You Die
Why will you die
To sin for saying not bye;
Why will you die young,
Or dear youth for your errant tang;
Why will you in hell burn
For refusing sin to spurn.
Reason with me and tell me why
For I see you can't the world deny:
By greed and pride you're ruled
And by fleshy feelings you're curbed;
You're controlled by your eyes
Prizing that which yourself ruins;
My name you carry on your lips
But in your hearts I have no place;
To serve me you swear in haste
But in doing, your oath turn to a waste;
When I ask whom shall I send
You rushedly say "Here I am, O Lord!"
Why many are still dead in sin
If you really from serving me didn't lin?
Look! Instead of saving souls
You join them in sowing weeds;
Worldliness and stubbornness I hate
Why do you, O dear, in this delight;
Sex is a gift to you in marriage
But you enjoy it without my knowledge;
I gave you hands and brain to work
But you sit around praying for luck;
For how long will you complain
Of a boring church to which you pertain?
Who bewitched you O dear youth
To think this journey is all that smooth?
Stand you now and look at me
You'll defeat all this if it be your plea;
Behold I now make an alarm
Whoever will hear to me may come!
