Paul, on the surface a beautiful hill-climbing write, but scratch the surface a bit, again, and there could be another layer of interpretation. Here's mine; this could be about a person who reaches a certain age where now he/she can look back on the majority of his/her life and come to terms with the good, bad and the ugly 'bag full of memories'.. the river represents 'cleansing' the heart, mind and soul in preparation for eternal life. You needn't wonder about my mystery of the suitcase. The poor guy got killed before it was ever recovered. (I am heavily influenced by my tv shows on the ID channel)
