While We Wait

Listen to poem:
while i’m safe at home i can choose to tune out the onslaught of extermination behind my locked door i can shut out the screams of loved ones dying while i’m in here i can forget the atrocities of a new reality at least for now i can feel safe keep the monsters at arm’s length here i can forget that life as we knew it will never be the same this too shall pass of course not in my lifetime anyway i’ll be long gone but till then i have it in me to step up and make a difference Published in my 24-page photo/anthology ~COVID 2020~ 2020 AP: Honorable Mention 2021 Posted on May 15, 2020

"at least for now i can feel safe keep the monsters at arm’s length" - you have stated this pandemic in exactly the right way.

This infirmity shall pass. Humanity has been hit several times in world history, be it human disaster (war) or medical disaster (plague) with pockets of natural disasters here and there (earthquakes, hurricanes, landslides, etc). But we are still here. This is a well thought out and well expressed poem. I love every bit of it

We can shut it out... Keep the devices off and stay in our caves... Personally, I've accepted this as normal, and my life seems very nice for the most part... :) gw

Very nice write Line, it's true life will never be the same, I saw a report from the WHO yesterday that we may have to learn to live with this just like the aids virus!
