We Had Tv and Radio

My teenage granddaughter sent me a video voicemail. I liked it so much, I decided to send one back. She would be shocked to know how many tries it took. It did not come natural to me. We did not grow up with technology. TV and radio was all we had back in ‘the day’ three channels each. TV went off at midnight and did not return until six or seven a.m. Does anyone else remember the test pattern?

Oh, yes. Yes, indeed. And the stations went off the air playing the national anthem. It was great! Enter the 24-hour news cycle. Not so great!
