This is a repost of the poem that I took down a few days ago. In hindsight it covers some of things I mentioned in my blog. In know way do I want to be insensitive to any other race , I just wanted to convey my truth. The theme throughout this poem is that " ALL LIVES MATTERS.

I will be the first to say that “ All Lives Matter, and we are all a part of the human race. But I’m sad , and my mind is nothing but clatter, why am I judged by the color of my face? I weep for my son, cousins , uncles and the like, all we want is to be treated as equals too. We are the same you and I, can I pass da mic? I understand that you matter just like I do. Why focus on color when we’re part of the human race? Racism has caused an unnecessary divide. We must focus on love because discord will leave without a trace. But in the end we must let go of unmerited pride. I will be optimistic and believe real change will unfold, however, it will take you and I to bridge a long overdue gap. In doing that, we will be able to unite and be bold. So love can take root and awaken us from our nap. Alexis Y. 6/20/20

Hi Greg, Although times are hard, I will continue to be optimistic and believe that “ racism” will be no more. I totally agree, change starts in the heart! You’ve always been a good “ soup” friend. I appreciate you. If you are father, I want to take this time to say, Happy Father’s Day!

I’m so glad you reposted your inspiring poem, Alexis, and that I had the chance to dwell within words from your heart. The truth you tell is powerful, and yes, ‘it will take you and I to bridge a long overdue gap’. We must stand against inhumanity, brutality and racism. We can not tolerate intolerance any longer. You can feel change in the air.. the change must be made to be positive. Warmest wishes always, my friend.. ~Susan

I do feel the pain of a long history of segregation and prejudice.. the pain of injustice and brutality.. rendering free souls unfree.. Nothing has changed as evil is creeping inside the human heart and making blind and cruel.. as if Love abandoned Humanity! You all matter, Alexis.. Great Work! My deepest regards and blessings.

Hi Besma, Our world has been plagued with the pain of prejudice, injustice and brutality for many years. We all must embrace “ Love” in ours hearts. It may sound cliche but I truly believe “ Love” is color blind. I appreciate you stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Have a wonderful day:-) Alexis

Thanks for reposting this, Alexis. It conveys a very important message and you wrote it very well. I recall in the 70's hearing of race riots in a city nearby mine and I could not fathom it. Here we are 50 years later and it still makes no sense to me. It's absoutely ridiculous after all the time since MLK and the civil rights fight. Like that line from 60's Peter paul and Mary song: when will they ever learn? When will they EVER learn?

Hi Andrea, It’s always good to see you on my page. Riots and negative protests are not good at all. I’m for peaceful protests! All the violence must stop. I understand one being tired and frustrated of their voice not being heard, but violence is not the answer. MLK was a great example of how one is to protest in the correct way. I agree with what he stood for 100%. Wouldn’t it be something if his “ I Have A DREAM Speech really came true? I still believe in the “ Dream “ If one can’t be optimistic and hopeful that things will get better, it would be just depressing! However, we all must be proactive in “ change and equality happening. We all must want a better world for all “ human beings” I appreciate you and respect you very much. And I consider you a friend. Have a wonderful day:-) Alexis

Hi Tom, You were one of the ones that encouraged me to repost this poem. I’m glad I did as well. If we could take the time to embrace one another, I think we will see that we are more a like than different. We are all apart of the@human race”! I appreciate your continued support my “ soup” friend. I don’t when Father’s Day is in the UK, but is today in the US. I know that you are a proud father, with that being said, Happy Father’s Day!

I am so glad you reposted this Alexis. I think that racism is a learned behaviour, maybe today is the day we can change the lesson plan. I cannot think of anything in which diversity does not makes us more rich. Warm hugs my sister of the pen. xomo

Hi , Thanks to you and several other (soup friends)that supported its message , I had to repost! I agree, because every time you see toddlers ( under two) playing together it doesn’t matter if the other kid was green, purple and etc. They’re just playing and having the time of their lives! We could learn a thing or two from them. I appreciate you and your friendship:-) Alexis
