Rising early with the sun Whispering a prayer My moment for reflection On the silent beauty Flickering through the dawn Coloring my thoughts In a melody of hope and faith Serenity that never fades Lingering on the laughter That lights my heart Tenderness and compassion Pouring across my soul Lifting me up like the caress Of kindness, gentleness Feelings flaming with grace Brilliant rays of joy Inspiring and encouraging me To reach for my dreams Dancing with belief Sliding down a rose Dewy promises of love Sighs of glorious song Raising souls toward home Where flames of grace Praise and worship Even the trees Lifting their leaves To applaud the One Who created them Gave them their veins And filled them with thanks For the chance To reach out in faith Softly rising Like the sea’s foam When the tide comes Alive, personified By yearning waves Lingering on the sprays Of sincerity, genuine charm Reaching beyond beauty Toward the inner sanctuary The purity that bleeds Assurance, devotion, belief In the singer of the stars The heart of God’s child Who breaks free of the lost And blends into hope To wander through life Alive, dancing a waltz Of vibrant adoration For the God who lives And gives His will To hearts who feel Jesus’ spirit giving them Salvation from sin Secure because… His light shines within Pick-A-Title, Vol 27 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Edward Ibeh 3.) A lovely write from a poet who wanders, not lost; lingers on laughter; invokes imagination and beauty; and expresses her heart as a child of God.
