No Waiting
Long ago
you became my foe
and I stood my ground.
My heart could not be found.
I ran far away.
Now I'm back
and the truth is clear.
You were always here,
waiting.
Waiting for me
to run back to you,
to forgive and forget,
full of regret,
waiting.
Our love never died,
though it grew dim.
It survived,
still alive,
waiting.
It still glimmers in the dark.
If I follow this spark
will it grow brighter?
Shall I fan its flame
as you call my name?
Waiting.
Run back to you?
Start anew?
Forget the past
at last?
No waiting?
