Voyage To the Brink
With spacetime ripples
come dark energy waves
Emanating from the ether
tainted forces hold me slave
What sort of person
fly’s kites after dark
One with many issues
hiding Cains invisible mark
Left to wander miasma
blind man at controls
Free will is human delusion
We’re all just digging holes
Carving out wishing wells
siphoned dry as stone
Skeletons lay rock bottom
gazing back through bones
Inconsequence is purpose
for those without aim
Living in empty dreamland
guilt chaperones my shame
Fate’s not predestined
roads bifurcate our way
Lost in cosmic equations
decimal points can go astray
On automatic pilot
found a thin line through
No strings attached
cept that irritating noose
Stupid mundane gestures
hello-nice day, see you all
My tightrope gives way
damn noose breaks the fall
Catatonic mannequins
race around my mind
Light speed slows down,
trying to keep with time
I stare at open ripples
stretching ever far apart
Reflecting chronic heartbeats
simply dying to depart
Take a chip off my shoulder
Russian roulette my head
Peep inside the hole
will only see black no red
To hell cast this world
Gamble away life’s coffers
Has nothing left but chaos
loss upon loss to offer
Can barely make an effort
to raise my pen from desk
Weight of ink bears heavy
under mountains of duress
Time; time is endless
writing home a final letter
Memories become yearnings
tears feel so much wetter
Question marks hangs over Cain
mine comes from the blue
Decimal point errs again
later resurfaced askew
Chosen to carry its blunder
I emerge into fading light
Oh good nights coming quickly
aubade dawns a new horror
decimal point is right
