Vacancy

Before I was here, you two loved. Your love was perfect, like that from above. It was the first love for both of you. You were both so young with love so true. Until one day, everything went wrong. You died without warning, you were gone. Now the space that you left in his heart is hollow, And the footsteps you made are hard ones to follow. The vacancy your absense has caused will leave me forever trying to mend it all. And its quite a job, mending the sore from a hurt that will never quite be over. Now he and I have a love between us built on respect, patience and trust. He is my first, he is my first love. But this isn't what I always dreamed of . Although your love is old, and our love is new and although I know he loves me, I'll never be you. I love him with my naive heart, I know he'll never be all mine. It's blind, it can't see his heart is strung with a vacancy sign.
