Untold Beauty
Amid heavy cloud cover,
the sun broke through to shine.
White clouds continued to hover,
on the horizon, in a hazy line.
The sky, a field of blue, and gray,
the sun's rays, here and there.
Creating a filmy, softly lit day,
described as pleasant and fair.
I notice days such as these,
more as time moves along.
Peaceful beauty that I want to seize,
and capture it before it is gone.
I let too many occasions slip away,
not taking the time to see.
Nature's painted picture, on display,
right there in front of me.
I can't go back, the time is lost.
How could I not have known?
What I discarded in a careless toss,
untold beauty, forever flown.
