The astronaut in a spaceship approaching the black hole
cannot describe the void indicated by instruments.
He cannot say star or stardust for it consumes all light
and light he cannot use to describe this voided sight.
Though an infinite mass this great being says
that really it is nothing at all.
When the skin is cut it heals without a scar
and it can consume a lesser one with a minor change in shape.
Signs say the universe has created the perfect whole
a verse of mystery calling beyond a haven
of a mere mortal view.
