Under the Stars The cobalt sky has many eyes; they're brightest just before sunrise as starlight. Sprinkled amidst the indigo we stop to let the sandman sow his stardust. Glittering `cross the peaceful night we view a shooting star take flight; we're starstruck. The sky becomes a starlit show as sea reflects its silver glow, so starbright. In awe we kiss and say goodnight. I watch as you walk from my sight, soft . . . starlit. 3-14-19 This lovely form was invented by my talented friend Margaret R. Smith http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/compound.html

Absolutely a Favorite and done with such skill. Loving the cadence in the rhyme and the snapshots in words are just beautiful. I adore all thing physics and astronmy. Have you other astronomical reads? Are you a Skywatcher? If you are, please suggest others of yours I should read! In my line try: ARCTURUS TREASUURE, NEW MOON RISING, and TOO CLOSE for COMFORT FOR STARTERS. This poem is a 7 indeed. Following you!

Yes, I love stargazing and trying to find the different constellations during different seasons. We have very clear skies here, unless the wind changes and we get the Kona wind coming from the south of us. We call the volcano smog, "Vog." I have several moon poems and others etc. Contd.

guess what, Connie, I did mine using word STar too but it's very different sounding from yours. I was inspired by the phrase "hush the stars" I am trying to get my current poem read better before posting more contest entries, of which I have three. How is YOUR muse treating you??

connie, I need to leave work now, but I told you I would kill two birds with one stone and I did it with that compound verse. What do you think If I do a contest on this form? do you think it would be a good idea? sorry about taxes. I need to do them too.

Right now my muse is taking a back seat to income taxes. It a time of year I dread. I look forward to reading your poem. I don't have time to join as many contests as you do. Even if I had the time, I need to feel inspired to write Andrea. I have to go check ot your blog now.

Dear Connie, What a lovely poem! I like the way you had a "star" word in each verse's last line. I'm not familiar with the contest, but I know what I like to read. This is terrific, dear. I hope your husband is doing alright. I struggle through good days and bad ones. Hope you had a happy Valentine's Day too! Love, Carolyn

To love in starlight, and kiss within the hushing night...oh that's a sight, two hearts in flight...the way you express wonder for evening love amidst the burning jewels of night is very lovely Connie...J.A.B.

A very beautifully constructed poem. Not easy to do what you have done here. It looks simplicity itself, however, it is anything but! You have obviously put a deal of thought into it. Very good, Connie! :-) john.
