Two Minutes
Did you take the time out today
Two minutes from your busy day.
To give a thought for those who lay
Beneath the sod in lands far away.
They took the pledge and went to war
And in a blink many were no more.
The pledge they took was just so you
Could live in safety like you do.
Generations now have passed since when
Those brave souls ceased to be fighting men.
But what they did on that distant shore
Should be remembered for evermore
So just take two minutes once a year,
Remember those who fought for you so dear.
Don't ever let their deaths be all in vain,
Went the call comes more will rise again
To go to war with but one just thought
To fight for the peace the world has sought.
