Twenty-One
Shake off the dust of those twenty-one years.
The dawn of a new age makes it's way.
Let the light burn through darkest fears.
Coming of age holds no victory, it appears;
It only holds powerful young souls at bay.
Shake off the dust of those twenty-one years.
The clouds make it seem like the sun disappears,
But so long as we beg, and we beg, it'll stay.
Let the light burn through your darkest fears.
Shadows may Slither to your eyes and your ears,
And through the passing of time it'll be okay;
Shake off the dust of those twenty-one years.
High head and high hopes, diminishing tears;
Not completely hopeless but neither gay,
Still let the light burn through darkest fears.
Still here, still standing, after all of these years;
Firm enough not to bend, nor to sway,
Shake off the dust of those twenty-one years,
and let the light burn through darkest fears.
