Turn Aside
take the time
to simply be
sit and write
let my thoughts
just run free
I know that they
want certain words
on pathways narrow
they want to be
and as I try
their path to walk
my thoughts will not
for them there go
they turn aside
across the fields go
seeking places
to be free
even then they
darkness find there
where light may not be
where joy might be lost
till clouds do part
and light shines through
bringing joy to words
that they want to hear
my thoughts run free
where they will go
and will not turn
aside for me
I can write
only them
only those
there for me
