trying to be brave

If I weren’t afraid,
I’d sail toward shores of safety
where pebbles surfacing the
tides give peace to my troubled
heart;
courage bleeds with fear and I
am still longing to be confident

and I would try to forgive,
if I weren’t afraid-
for it has been way too long
since I’ve worn freedom,
far too wide is the distant
horizon that searches for
my bravery

for I’m a valiant woman searching
for a dauntless desire to not allow
apprehension to envelope
my essence-
anymore

o, if I weren’t afraid…

"since I’ve worn freedom, far too wide is the distant horizon that searches for my bravery" - a gorgeous missive that means something to many of us. Me especially.

Oh, LuLoo, you speak for so many of us. I had a setback last weekend and have an anxiety level through the roof. This is beautifully written. A fav.

I hear ya! we just found out we've been exposed to back mold for awhile now, it's super stressful. But we must move on and prevail, right? So hard at times, but you are strong and con do anything you desire. Thank you once again sweet Sunlite :) -luloo
