Triumphant Christmas Eve
‘Twas the night before Christmas
I was awed by a music class
Rendering carols’ joyous splash:
Orchestra’s majestic extras.
Trumpet greeted, “The Lord is come”
Echoing melodious welcome
Violin’s joyous stringed wisdom
Exclaimed, “Christ is born,” with freedom.
Harp’s “Join the triumph of the skies”
Blended well with viola’s rise
Piano hailed “Peace on earth”… so nice
“Gloria…” aired cello’s device.
Flute exclaimed well, “Oh holy night”
Clarinet cheered midst “All is bright”
Then xylophone ticking with might
Joined chimes for wondrous praises’ height.
*Psalm 92:4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
