Tragedy In Texas

I have clenched fists How sad it is My heart is breaking My soul is shaking Tears are streaming My voice is screaming Children dying I am trying To make sense Of this event That should never be Ripping apart families Children put in early graves Violence coming in large waves Because our society Can not let the anger be Buried deep and forgotten So we can protect our children

Hello Robin Davis, yes the children protection from the guns. I do not understand why anyone would feel it right to kill children. Children are the future. What went on in that mind set to kill children and a teacher? No child will feel safe in the schools any more. So sad. Enjoy your day my friend.

Thank you for writing this poem, Robin. We need to do everything we can, as poets, to raise awareness of the tragedy and the continuing consequences of it. We must outlaw assault-style weapons in this country and, yes, confiscate them...period! If we truly care about our children, we will do so.
