Tortoise Tribute Crutch, a hatchling's nest, breaks into a bale, Fledglings purposeth an arduous life, Much trek a nearby beach whereon, they flail, Bearings of ocean's girth, between lays strife, Touch by their needs, determined without fail, Endings in a wet world, shared breeds a rife, Trouble goes on well into adulthood, Humble with a long life, honored for good. **Syllable Counter checked 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10 - 10, 10 = 80. 2019 June 05 *3rd Place* Rima Ottava ~~charles messina

This is amazing, William: First, that you've crafted a real tribute to a tortoise, of all creatures. Second, that you've attempted a difficult form of poetry, the ottova rima. Third, that you've actually produced a fine tribute to a tortoise in actual ottova rima form. I'm impressed. I'm FAVing this one! :) gw
