To a Friend, Upon Discovering His Own Moon

pick flowers drink while nectar flows. sap is bitter when stem hardens into wood. the bumblebee sees not the world with the petals that surround. the hive hums with discordant sounds and empty clamorings. tomorrow's season is fall. (28 may 79)
