Three Warriors Are Sleeping
three warriors are sleeping now
resting in the "Nam" of heaven
beneath starry, clear skies
Kool, Rice and “G”
have suffered, aged and died
shed their green fatigues
for eternity
to dream of the quiet spirit
peace of mind
free
from haunting images of buddies’ deaths
the crying echoes of pain
chaotic disorder
memory that just won’t fade
and orange cancer
three warriors are sleeping now
resting in the jungles of heaven
on poppy field beds
