Those Last Few Moments

In those last few moments of this journey When my life passes before my eyes, I see a childhood mixed with misery and joy Overall, I think I was a mostly happy boy. But I will also see a lad full of determination To be more successful than anyone ever thought And so, many victories in my life will flash past They are the most important things that last. I will see them, the ones I have dearly loved Experiencing places, things we shared in kind, Memories were made that will never go away Because I am leaving the best of them behind. Most of all, I look forward to seeing her face Who shared most of my best times on earth, I think I shall see her waiting there for me As I make the journey into that fond eternity.

I hope this is true "And so, many victories in my life will flash past They are the most important things that last. I will see them, the ones I have dearly loved Experiencing places, things we shared in kind,"

Oh me, too. I wonder if it's really true that our life flashes past our eyes in that moment. Interesting idea. Probably not. Most people are too sick at that point to care. Both birthing and dying are struggles, I think.

Hi, Milton, Isn't it nice to live in America so we can disagree? I 'm sorry for your health issues. I will pray for you. I know what you mean about writing. I love to pick up on what causes people to write poems. I would like to know how you got in to it, if your not mad at me.

Patrick, I appreciate your thoughts in response to my poem. I started writing poetry as a child, and I have been doing so for my whole life. I don't know whether I've made any progress, but I keep working at it! I think poetry is a unique way folks can express their innermost feelings.

You write feelings in your poem. I feel your loss. I am at the age that I am beginning to look forward to being with the Lord though I'm still in good health, I long to see my loved ones that have passed.

Thank you so much, Patrick. I truly understand your longings, but don't think your life short. I'm so happy you are "still in good health," because I have so many ailments, I have to fight to make the best of each day. OTOH, I do! I think reading and writing poems exercising my brain and staves off senility. My mind is sharp, but my body is a mess! LOL

Every day the older we get, the chance of our dying increases, decreasing the time you wait to meet up at last with Deb. Life and Love Everlasting.

Well, I hope to live a few more here, because I am enjoying life, but I do not fear dying. I think, as she did, that it will be the greatest journey we can ever take. Thanks for your inspiring thoughts, Shirley.

Thanks, Bill. I am a very strong believer that if "everlasting life" means what it says, then death is but a transition, and I believe what is yet to come must certainly be an improvement.
