World of Apathy

the people who love me for how colorful I am are few and far between I’ve learned to keep my cards close to my chest I just carry on and do my own thing years of their raised eyebrows shrugging shoulders lack of time for listening general lack of interest and minimal validation cruel and callous comments why not encourage me or any other kid who still has dreams wanting to flaunt their colors hopes and ambitions nurturing the confidence to create their vision for standing out in a world of apathy let’s you and me wipe the dust off our dreams and boost their colors muster all the validation from deep within ‘cause once dreams have come true the magic happens validation and appreciation come out of the woodwork because in the end dreams contribute to the higher cause close your eyes and block off those nasty naysayers picture those supporters all around you they don’t know it yet they’re just waiting to see your colorful finished product AP: 3rd place 2020 Posted on July 8, 2018
