These Arms Long To Hold You
I saw you standing there
One foot behind you against
The wall that held you tensed
Sometime in I say a prayer
You talk to me most of the night
And I think of you all the next day
Remembering each word you say
Your voice is still alive in the light
I feel closer to you each moment
Amid words that go on before you
Chanting out passions without a clue
Of just how deeply I need atonement
As the weeks pass into months
My feelings for you grow stronger
And I cling to you that much longer
The time comes where love confronts
These arms long to hold you
Against me close and sweet
Feeling your heart skip a beat
I haven’t a doubt I’ll be true
