The Weeping of a Willow Tree

Not a rain cloud in sight Yet tears dripping down, To the ground from the leaves On the Weeping willow tree Cast to the ground by strong winds Never to stand again Roots pulled up from the ground Exposed and naked to all 30 years of growth these rings Counted around, with ivy growing Covering the nakedness Of this weeping willow tree Rotting inside as the woodpeckers Pecking for bugs With only one small gleam of hope A Carpenter with his tools Slicing a piece from the trunk With care carving a beautiful Picture of this weeping willow tree Into this wood with this saying below Once a Weeping Willow Stood Here

How lovely. What a tribute to glory... Loved your poem, loved your tree and memory to follow. Hugs. Ann

Were you THAT carpenter, my friend? I know that you are a whiz with your hands. Cheers!
