The Vessel

Bug or beehive, either way, It’s ugly and imposing Yet everyone will talk about it; That’s what I’m supposing. The sculpture, recently unveiled, Has varied stairs and landings And one small lift where one strict guard Was full of reprimandings. From every level, there’s a view, The river in the distance And as you climb up higher You can feel the wind’s resistance. Opinions clash about this structure, But it isn’t moving, Welcoming all comers, Which includes those disapproving.

I like your line of reasoning, Ilene. Wish there was a picture of this 'sculpture'. I suppose I would be happy with the view:) Regards // paul

Hey Paul! Thanks for writing! Google "The Vessel at Hudson Yards, New York" and you can see it...

GOOD poem, Ilene. MUCH of art-- the point of it--escapes me! Janice
