The Thing About Love
The
thing
about love is
you can stretch it till it’s paper thin
it will not break
you can hide it, even deny it
it will not disappear
The thing about love is
you can trust it when you can’t see in the dark
it will be there
you may be alone, you may lose everything
it will still be your friend
like a willow in the wind leaning into bend
the thing about love is
it will not break or
disappear
it will be
there to
the end
