The Sun Changes Everything

I can feel my pouty lip, Determined to be out there. No idea why. A giant frown on my forehead Has wrinkled my upper torso And I am not even up yet! The alarm clock is still ringing, so I say Alexis, alarm off. Silence. But it is still dark and gloomy. Part of me argues we do not want to get up. In one swell swoop I toss the curtains aside Glorious God-given sunlight fills the room. My mood changes instantly. He said, “And let there be light”, And there is And all is good.

I love this poem... it makes me think of all the cold miserable mornings I had to drag out of bed to walk my dog- and how they became glorious mornings once I actually opened my eyes and walked around in the bright morning sunlight... everything so crisp, and clean, and new. I am not a morning person, but sunshine is amazing, powerful stuff!

Sunshine is alive and well out there today, and I am reminded once again how vibrant I could be if I ventured out there, so I am doing it now.

What a beautiful poem, Caren. The thought that the sun not only grows our food and provides life on earth, but also can change our mood. A wonderful revelation. // Warren :)
