The Silent One
My mind so weary, feelings cold,
as madness lingers in my soul.
The silence beckons, words untold,
as deep inside I lose control.
So sad, so sad this voice in me
seems hot in summer's torrid breeze
to close my eyes, to be set free
in dark and soundless reveries.
I find my peace in lulling hush.
The quiet sets my thoughts at ease
and in the twilight evening blush,
my burdened mind, my dreams appease.
So listen loud to life undone,
but know me as the silent one.
