The Rose

A peach colored rose stood with an army of protective thorns Glowing with peace, shining in the overgrown garden Capturing teardrops of dew as they fell from the sky Emanating hope with its bright, soft, delicate, petals When storms came, it stood strong with tattered edges As they fell upon the ground, it bloomed again and again Reminding us just how strong, our fateful, genuine, love is As we watched in awe, something that we chose not to pick We walked away tightly hand in hand, with all that we have The same hope and strength growing along with the rose - Blooming in our love forever - Heidi Sands 10/20/19 Placed 2nd in the Writing Challenge, October – Flower or Flowers Poetry Contest

Lovely Heidi. Really great description. Could see the lovely peach colored rose as I read. I have a rose garden with many different colors. Red, white, yellow , coral and peach are there. Nicely done. God Bless and good luck. JB

Heidi, I'm glad you chose not to pick..,rather to let it grow. What a nice rose, and flowering love. -Richard

This rose is truly worthy of that famous line: A rose is a rose IS A ROSE! A positively heroic rose, Heidi, created by your delicate penning. Bravo! Warmest wishes, Gershon
