The Rhythm of the City-Old Jerusalem

There is a music within the walls of the Old City. A music like none I have ever experienced anywhere on this earth. It’s a sound of hustle and bustle and a sound of harmony too. It’s as though each and every race and religion has their own musical notes, but when they all come together they blend so peacefully. As with any great concerto piece there will be mis-notes and sometimes the instruments are out of tune, but overall the entire work is the greatest masterpiece. Every tribe and nation is represented in this old city. Every language spoken. I think I even heard on old rabbi speaking Yiddish as I passed him at the bread stand. Sign language, facial expressions, hands shaking hands from all across the globe. Even the holy sites have such a beautiful harmony. Everyone contributes something to the masterpiece that is being played here. Oh what a lovely sound! Gwendolen Rix 4-29-15
