The Phone Call
Before I turned seventeen, the man of
my dreams came walking into my world,
becoming - for a short sweet time -
the prince I’d been waiting for.
Not from my country, he
had to go back home.
Phone calls and mail
in one year
years, I had
married and had a
baby. Holding her one
morning, I heard the phone ring.
My lost prince had – too late – found me!
I felt a thrill, but what could I say?
Thus, I died a little inside. . . that day.
