The Perfect Day
THE PERFECT DAY
What constitutes a perfect day
Is it friends who live nearby
Or perhaps a fresh cup of coffee
And a warm slice of apple pie
Maybe it's just a lazy day
Where one can do as they please
Take a nap or take a stroll
Down the lane 'neath old oak trees
Could it possibly be a visit
From your children from out of state
It could even be a fun filled night
Because you decided to stay up late
Whatever the case may be, my friend
It would serve you well
To start each day with the Lord above
And avoid the gates of hell
