The Pencil
It is a graphite instrument created to depict expressions,
something to record emotions; bring to light an epiphany-
It comes to dear life with ideas and inspiring suggestions,
composing intimate feelings with sentimental harmony.
It gives purpose to many, bestows passionate directions,
the pencil can bring such ease through writing’s affection.
It etches on sketch paper such an aria of an intricate design,
drafting beautiful landscapes and silhouettes of illustration-
And when two abstract lines come together and align,
the pencil then becomes the most noteworthy animation.
There’s density and types of lead, carbon thickness or fine,
and nothing like the magnificence of drawing an outline.
I bring to life the pencil and all that it represents in existence,
to some a sentence created to others a picture from the soul-
We can write or draw without hesitation nor resistance,
and with each stroke of carbon we can make our lives whole.
For it is only through imagination and with the pencil’s assistance,
we can fabricate and originate our senses through persistence.
