The Mountain and Lake
I drove by the home, where I used to live
Mist hovered over the still water there
Morning sunshine reflected brightly
As rays of beautiful memories returned
A bittersweet place, creative endeavors
The mountain and lake greeted me every day
Oh, how I miss my best friends from then
He died too soon and my dog died too
Memories kept there, are also in my mind
I see my special place, is still shining on
As I am watching and I am driving on
Nothing on earth will ever take them away
The days when I lived at this beautiful place
Those days filled with happiness and pain
The mountain and the lake witnessed it all
