The Miracle Cycle

In her arms an infant wails as my daughter walks the hall soothing her new babe, and the miracle unfolds. . . Her wee one's pangs will vanish. Soon enough, brown hair, like the child's older sister's, will lighten up and lengthen, and sleepy eyes will brighten! All that is strange to the newborn's searching eyes will then become familiar, as seeing, then testing, the small girl goes from crawling, then to toddling. All too soon, full grown, she'll walk the hall herself, a young new mother comforting an infant in her arms. For PD's Free Verse form Poetry Contest

Ah, so this is the Miracle Cycle. It is utterly charming in a Circle of Life kind of way. The grandmother as observer seeing her daughter with her own babe, and foreseeing the cycle repeat itself. Simple yet profound. Love it.

I love verses will the circle of life! I write many of them. YOU HAVE mail my sweet friend...explaining away your anxiety! As to 1 thing I forgot to answer. I WANT to KNOW what modern editors think the "place" of punctuation is in 21st century poetry? Do you know? Light & Love (The only input I'd have on the verse above is let the reader feel they are the mother walking the baby...not the observer?) Soup Mail

Andrea, Congratulations on your win the contest! This is a wonderful miracle here! Thanks for your kind comments on my poems today! Re: The Gift of Song", it wasn't a gift from the man. But a gift from God. No man could give that gift. I tried typing the quote in italics, but when you post it it doesn't stay in italics, I guess that's why you misunderstood. Thanks for your kind comments, girl. Love, Audrey
